Well ........ maybe by the summer we will be Grin

Are you having a nice day Leo. Haven't heard from you for ages. I'm off work today and having a lovely day with Harrison (who is currently snoozing away) DH and I are away tomorrow for a long weekend in London, staying at the Four Seasons Hotel in Park Lane. DH's mum is coming down to look after the children so today I'm supposed to be cleaning, washing, cooking and stripping beds but so far, I've played with Harrison and been on MN Blush

Oh well, got all afternoon yet - famous last words Smile

Its beautiful here today, warm and sunny :)! Just hope it lasts for the weekend.

Isn't it great taking the babies in to the garden, Niklas loves it! He managed to kiss a tree stump on Friday though and we had cut lip, bruised cheek and lots and lots of tears :(! We are digging out a corner to put a big sandpit in for him.

Oh wonderful busy!

I just find it really hard to get on the computer at the weekends and evenings and this time when I came back I felt I had lost the thread a bit so read but didn't really post. I can only tell you all that Niklas gets more and more adorable every day :o, and I just feel so overwhelmed and proud of him at the moment :o:o he sleeping 11 hours a night (shhhhhhhhh),:o:o:o, dh is convinced he is ill :(! We have spent the last (weekends when not doing garden stuff) running around looking for a caravan, we bought one yesterday, so holidays for the next 10 years will be camping in Italy, france, Switzerland, hopefully a bigger trip to Sweden.... and we rented a seasonal place in a campsite half an hour from home right beside a lake \link{http://www.tuerlersee.ch\our campsite} We had our first bbq in the garden on Tuesday night, that was goooooooooooooood!

I'm also on the list of people who haven't updated the photobucket for ages Blush, but Niklas will never stay still long enough to get any photos!

Hi misdee - good to 'see' you again.

Leogaela - that site looks amazing. Wow. And camping with kids is just paradise. They love it.

The better weather is fab isn't it. And hopefully Iris will learn to walk just in time to really enjoy getting out and about. She already tears around our local playground pushing a baby pram at tremendous speed.

Hi Misdee. Nice to hear from you. How are you all doing? As the unofficial Photobucket teller offer, you need to put some new pics of Serena on.
Yes, Leo, you too!
Just been into Cape Town shopping with DH. Am absolutely buggered. Wasn't even exciting- just his annual clothes shop!
Having a problem with my feet at the moment. When I stand up from a sitting position, my feet hurt like crazy for about a minute, then the pain goes away. Don't know what it is. Just generally feeling like an old crone today. Body aching everywhere.
We have booked our flights to Hamburg for this family wedding in August. Spending four days in Hamburg, then booked a gorgeous place in Tuscany for a week, and finally three nights in Florence on our way back. Can't wait. Hope it's going to be ok with leaving Lauren with my folks. She probably won't be bothered at all. It will be her Mummy pining(sp?) for her I think.

How lovely, talk about summer and summer holidays. I love the views at that campsite, Leo. And your trip round Europe sounds fab too, Jambot.

We are fine here too. Sylvia has had a few more accidents, she fell out of our bed one evening and got hit by the opening automatic door at Sainsbury's. She's fine, just bumpy forehead. She's v funny and entertaining. Clinging on to me all the time again, although settling in v well at nursery. My dad is here and he takes her to nursery and picks her up and she's fine, doesn't cry when left or at home time.

I'll dig up the password for the photobucket and try and update it and have a good look at all the other babies (?) too.

Hey Cristina, what's with the name change - very powerful sounding Grin Harrison has also just been through a very clingy stage which is most unlike him. He cried the second he thought I was leaving him and laid down on the floor with real tears flowing down his face like the world was ending Sad Only lasted about a week and then today, he woke up and he's happy, happy, happy again Smile

Leo, the campsite looks fab Smile You don't feel left out here now do you. I was worried about your post earlier saying you felt you'd lost the thread a bit so didn't post. I'd be really upset if you were feeling bad Sad I love hearing about Niklas, he sounds such a character.

Right, off to pack. See you when I'm back Smile

Have a nice long weekend, Buzy. I'd suggest meeting up but seeing as it's all very romantic with just you and your DH... :)

I changed my name after a Nick Cave song, on a thread about MN names. I'd had the other for over a year now and couldn't immediately think of something else.

Hope you have a fab weekend busy - what a luxury to have time for just the two of you. Enjoy.

Good to hear from you misdee - how's Serena's modelling going?

The campsite looks lovely Leo - dd1 would be so jealous of your caravan, often when we drive past one she says she wishes she could have a holiday in one. I think there's something very exciting about camping and/or caravanning when you're a child.

Love the new name Christina Smile.

It was dd1's 8th birthday today - had a lovely day, met dh for lunch and my parents came over this morning. Grace has been on good form the last couple of days - slept really well last night, not waking until 6am before falling back to sleep again (eventually!) until 8.30am when the 'phone woke everyone! Unfortuntately though, we didn't have an undisturbed night as Phoebe appeared at the side of our bed at 4.30am to tell us there was a spider on her ceiling. So excited about her birthday, she couldn't sleep so had turned her bedside light on and noticed the (very small) spider! Dh gallantly removed it but it took me some time to get back to sleep!

BW - Thankyou very much for your sponsorship. As you probably saw I am doing quite well and I have been doing a last minute push this week. I feel it's really important to try and raise as much as I can, cos it is a worthwhile charity and I won't be doing it again!
Have a great weekend, if you're really short of something to do you could come and watch the London Marathon - lol

CTA - Spotted your name change on another thread, I like it!

BoneyM - Is Phoebe having a bday party? Whatever she does I hope she has a lovely day.

Good Luck for the weekend Jo. Will be with you in spirit.
Pouring with rain here. Our first of the year, which we badly need. Lauren is walking all over the place, with her record being 8 steps before landing on her bum.

Good luck on Sunday Jo - will be thinking of you.

Phoebe's party is on Sunday - she decided she wanted a "disco" party at a local indoor play centre. She's had her last three parties at home which has been nice, but at least there will be less work this year!

Grace managed to climb onto the sofa today, by sort of flinging one leg up and then rolling herself up! Very comical Grin. She is reallly into climbing on everything at the moment - thinks it is great fun and is so pleased with herself every time she climbs onto something.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Jo - Good luck, I will be thinking of you tomorrow!!!! Can't wait to hear about it all afterwards!

Busy, no feeling fine, not feeling left out or anything like that!

We have had the most fantastic summer weather for the last few days and this evening the most incredible thunderstorm :)! i love it, it feels like summer!

Niklas is really enjoying being able to run around the garden. He is also such a happy little boy at the moment! We got his sandpit today, still have to finish sorting out where we are going ot put it though! yesterday we went to dh's brohter's house for his niece's birthday, they have a swimming pool in the garden (very deep with no water in it), I had a very nerve wracking time chasing after Niklas who seemed to be absolutely obsessed with it. Why is it the things I want him most to stay away from are things that most attract him. Maybe it was attention seeking as everyone else had disappeared and I was on my own with him feeling a bit flaky, just wanting to sit in the sun and him play happily at my feet ha ha ha ha, miracles can happen Wink!!! We took the niece shopping for her birthday present in the afternoon and left Niklas for the first time on his own with Dh's sister (who is supposed to be his non-religious-'god'parent), he doesn't know her well yet but was as happy as anything to be with her and her 4 boys which is great!

Leo - Niklas sounds just like Grace - she always makes a beeline for the most dangerous place/item wherever we are! Doesn't make for a stress-free life does it?

I was saying to dh today that I have great, relaxed times with her when I am just with her playing or doing stuff; it's when I feel I have to do chores that I get stressed because then I can't give her my full attention and it's then that she gets (or trys to get) into mischief, or else decides that the only place she wants to be is in my arms! Have decided therefore to not worry about chores so much - after all, there are more important things in life than a tidy house!

Weather has been lovely here today as well, so have had a great time in the garden - bought a pop up play tent and tunnel at Asda which Grace absolutely adored playing in with Phoebe. She got filthy crawling around everywhere, and tried on several occasions to eat the grass, but had a lovely time!

Boney - Lauren has been climbing on everything for about two weeks, and throws quite a strop if she can't manage to get her leg up. She's already taken two backwards dives over the sofa arms. I can't leave her for a minute at the minute - she seems to be falling over and hurting herself ten times a day and on top of that is winging constantly when she can't do what she wants to do, get to something she sees, can't climb, can't have, can't physically achieve etc, etc!! Driving me mad at the moment. Although it must be exhausting her as she slept from 6:15pm to after 8am this morning - the latest she has ever slept. I only woke up at 8 and couldn't believe the time. What a pleasure. Raining the whole weekend. No distacting walks I'm afraid.

Iris is WALKING! Hurrah. She is so pleased with herself. And I'm thrilled - my aching back muscles might get a rest now!

Just watching the London marathon - go Jo! Really looking forward to hearing how it went for you.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 23/04/2006 13:45

Well done to Iris. Her walking coincided with the London Marathon. Do you think this is a sign of things to come?

Jambot - it is a difficult time when they can't quite walk properly and can't talk properly either. It must be so frustrating for them to start having the intellectual capacity to want to do things but be "let down" by the physical ability to move or talk.

Jo is running the marathon? i missed the other posts on it, but go jo!

Just got back from harefield, took serenas toy buggy with us and she walking down the corridors. she looks so little to be walking tho. She can wak unaided now but prefers to crawl, its faster lol.

Christina - Any sign of the Ergo?
Saw some of the marathon on Sky News. Hope you got there Jo.

Report
CristinaTheAstonishing · 23/04/2006 18:33

Hi Jambot - no Ergo yet but I only managed to send the cheque a couple of days ago. As long as it gets here before the end of May when I go camping. Or a few days beforehand so I can get used to it. I can't tell you how excited I am about receiving it. I hope Sylvia likes it too.

I haven't watched anything of the Marathon, I'm curious to see how one of our friends did. He ran last year too, both times for Amnesty. Richard sponsored another guy and I did one other (for a deafness cahrity). Richard is thinking of maybe doing it in a few years' time. I know I won't ever do it, the thought makes my kness go wobbly and jelly-like. I'm not one for endurance.

Jo - I hope today was a fantastic experience. Well done for all the hard work that went into the training for this.

Report
JoPG · 23/04/2006 19:20

Yay - I did it.
Not exactly the time that I wanted, was aiming for 4hrs40mins cos that what all the training suggested (22 miles in 3hrs55mins), but managed 5hrs15mins. I am still very proud to have finished though, and have raised over £2000 for the Anthony Nolan Trust
\link{http://www.justgiving.com/JoanneGall\My Just Giving Page}
That rain was not too nice, and gave me cramp and a sore back, but a nice bath has gone some way to sorting that out.
DS1 is taking the medal to Show and Tell tomorrow!
