It was my dd's first birthday on friday. I had a big party for her with all her little friends, and she was totally overwhelmed but so well behaved, unlike some of them.

DS was an angel till he was one Then he learnt to walk and is a complete tearaway...

DS will be one tomorrow. Am thinking i should ask my DB to supervise the day. He is a policeman Grin

most of the other children were one or just over, but there were a few who were 2 that went round kicking others.

I had 2 parties when dd turned 1, one for those who had to bring children for heavens sake! As if just because I had one I had to actually start liking theirs!
And another in the evening for the grown ups. I have to say, the kids in the end were better behaved than the grown ups!

I hate having kids parties! So well done for putting up with it, but you really should re-think because once you start with the parties, well then where do you stop? And all children go hyper at parties. I can't stand kiddies parties and most of the time I can't stand other kids either! Including my own!!!!

Parties when they are little are great especially their first birthday party. She won't remember it but you always will Smile.

yes rhubarb is right, it certainly gets worse as they get older and start 'expecting' a certain standard of party!

Ahhhh bless !

We just had a family party for my dd's 1st - got the grandparents to wear silly hats etc and had a great time !

Totally agree about others people's kids though - Yuck ! Mine is 6 this year - and I think I may have to emigrate before the party ! Bleugh !

ive decided that next year, when she is walking properly, i might hire out a fun house so all her friends can abuse someone elses place and i dont have to clear up afterwards.
