Dec 05 baby - Just wondering

I'm back to work in June and the thoughts of leaving my DD is just killing me. I don't even have to worry about child care because she's being looked after by a family member but I'm still dreading it. If it was now I'd be losing it. I'm hoping that by June it'll be a bit easier. Does it get easier?

Yes it does. I cried every day when I first went back to work after dd but it does get easier and you'll eventually find that it's nice to have some grown up time away from your baby - even if it is at work. I had my 2nd child in Dec and am due to go back to work in June. I have arranged to go back part time for a while - is that an option for you?

There is a group of us here who all had babies in Dec. The thread is \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2330&threadid=147806&stamp=060331230006\here} Everyone is lovely and we all share the good bits and bad bits of being new mums.

Thanks sweetheart. We went out tonight for dinner with friends, first time leaving dd. I was a lot calmer than I thought but we got a call after an hour and a half to come home, poor dd was hysterical. Wouldn't settle at all. At least we got our starters and main course and a glass of wine! Lickily our friends have two of their own so they understood. We got home and after ten mins she was gooing and smiling at us. They're just so cute at this age.
Part time not an option for me at all. I will look into it after the summer though.
Thanks again, I'll have alook on that thread, new to the site but it'll be nice to share and to hear other peoples good and bad news!
