Ooh that's better!

Just tidied the house ready for the weekend, it's dp's birthday tomorrow, so we'll probs be having a few visitors, although I'm finding my new catchphrase whenever anyone enters the house is 'don't mind the mess!'

Have a lovely time at the theatre Londoner, I think Joaquin Pheonix is lovely!

Diege, hope the babies behaved! I'm sure they did! We'll be in Sheff this time next week I did ask (well badger ) S&Lsmum to come too, and I'll be bold enough to say she's thinking about it!

dd went to school this morning in a pair of glittery sandals (they've got a non-uniform day for charity and can dress in whatever they like) I have sent her with a pair of boots to put on for playtime, hmm I wonder if she will?!

Right better pick Joe up from playgroup, bye!

Hi Rodeo. I was thinking recently about it being a year since we started the thread. The time has FLOWN. Must admit that it does make me a little nostalgic for those early days of pregnancy. A friend of mine is trying for her third baby now and it's so exciting to talk about taking pregnancy tests. I think I'll just live vicariously for a while though!

Londoner, forgot you were going to see the film. Was it a good one? I'm not really into Johnny Cash (way too much of him growing up in Texas) but if it's a good story I might try it. Maybe another day for Costa. Hope you had a good day out.

If you guys fancy a laugh, DH and I are in Eve magazine this month! I volunteered for the article right after Rosie was born and I wanted to do something different. Must remember to never have my photo taken six weeks after giving birth. Dreadful pic but it was a lot of fun. We're the Blackheath couple in the Are You in the Same Marriage article. And, that's also my hand holding the tacky red knickers in the I'm Not a Pornstar article. After our shoot they needed a volunteer hand model and I obliged. I think the new baby hormones were making me slightly insane.

Oh wow Tex, will go and get 'Eve' right away! - another magazine yah....
Hope you had a good trip to the cinema Londoner - it's had good reviews I think? It's great that you get to go every week, bet it's nice to have it to look forward to . Had lovely lunch at restaurant; both babies slept, so we had time for a good gossip, 2 courses and coffee!
RODEO, yes, we will be in Sheffield next week!! Felt quite proud to say to friend today that I can't meet next week as 'I'm seeing my friends in Sheffield' . Great if S&Lsmum could come too; the more the merrier!
BTW, not heard from TWINKLE for a while; hope you are OK, and that your nan is feeling better?
Speak later,
Diege.

Well, Natalie got called a 'character' by the HV today - think that might have been to do with the half hour of crying that could only be stopped by me walking around the room jiggling her. I was very though, they decided to do the first interview type thing (the one you would normally get at home) with a woman that arrived AFTER me. That meant we were waiting in a really hot room for an hour and 20mins to get seen. She's now 16lb 8ozs and is over 91st centile. At this rate she'll be off the chart next time!

Going to see Walk the Line on Monday, it's got oscar nominations so should be worth a watch.

Tex, love your 'Eve' post, will look out for it next time I shop.

Evening all, WEnt to PN Group - session on Play today. Quite interesting. Also took opportunity to weigh T - who is now 13lb4½oz! (at 10wks!) what a big boy!!!
Hope everyone is well and that you have a good weekend.
It's my Grandad's birthday tomorrow, (83), but he is not too well at the moment, and has been in hospital for the last month , am hoping he is well enough for me to take T to see him, but am not holding out much hope Have bought a gorgeous photo frame that says "I love my Great Grandpa" on it - hoping this might cheer him up and spur on his recovery.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Hello everyone! Brownie - hope your grandad has a good birthday; I sure he will be touched by the lovely gift . Glad you enjoyed the film Londoner ; I saw a pretty scary horror on DVD last night ('Wolf Creek' - had been on film4 recently?) - a real hands over the eyes job, and not particularly pleasant. I used to love a good horror, but now prefer romantic comedies; gping soft in my old age.
Talking of romantic, loved the article in 'EVE' TEX!! Wow, you are famous!! LOVE the idea of 'Cookie nookie' ; I mentioned it to DH who say, 'what, so we 'do it' afterwards' !! ; he should be so lucky!!
Well, expecting friend from work for lunch - have discovered the joy of ready roasted chickens! - will speak soon,
Diege.
btw: Libby's nappy rash has gone, thanks to advice on creams - metonium {sp?) is a wonder, and have been using zinc and caster at every change .

Last week she came round to babysit and after she's left I discovered all our baking trays and oven stuff dumped into the sink (unwashed)...think she was hinting at something? ; was so cross...like I don;t have enough to do!hmmm, going to try and stay calm today...
Well, better go and wake DH up from his 'nap' !!!argghhhhh!!!!!!

Meant to add that I hope you're feeling a bit better Beksmum? Tummy upsets are a pain (literally) as you feel so drained and washed out, though agree, feel secretly pleased that I may be losing a few pounds . Could do with one myself as I seem to have put ON a pound after joining SW last week !! Will find out at weigh-in tommorrow!

Hi all, thanks for your wishes for my Grandad - he seemed much better when we took Thomas to see him on Saturday. He loved the frame put a picture of T in his big cot in it, left a picture of him with Thomas for him to look at (my Nanna had taken the frame home, incase it got broken). Bought him the most wonderful card - read the words to my DH the night before, and cried! When my Nanna read it out to my Grandad, I cried again as did my Nanna and my Mum - not a dry eye in the house (well, hospital!)
T stayed at my parents last night - as we went out with a friend and his fiance. All was well with T - he doesn't seem to mind too much staying at his Grandparents house - which is a good thing, as we get to go out occasionally together. He's got his own room at theirs, so it's like going on holiday! (well, that's what we tell him anyway!)
Hope you have all had a good weekend.

Evening all!! Had trouble finding you all as didn't realise there was a new thread!!!

We've had a lovely weekend DH and DD went to see chicken little yesterday so DS and I had a bit of peace and today we went walking up to Black Rocks in the Peak district!! DD was very good and walked all the way which turned out to be about 2 miles as DH got us lost ( am hoping they will both sleep well tonight!!!)

Am still thinking wether or not to come up to Meadowhall, will need to see if MIL can have Layla though as can't cope with her aswell ( she finds shopping v dull ). Will let you know Rodeo towards middle of the week!!

Had Seth weighed last monday and was 14lbs 1 oz then , he's bang on the "average" line but seems to be feeding+++ at the moment !!

Does anyone else baby thrash around while they are feeding ? Seth does and its getting quite difficult to get a decent feed into him!!! Any tips pls pass them on.

Have dyed my hair so will now go and wash the mess off BYE!!!

Evening everyone!
Good to hear from you Twinkle ;by rabid dog, do you mean foamy mouth? If so, I have a bubble-blower too . I will look up train times tommorrow, with some suggested times for meeting at your station - shall we still aim to get into Meadowhall at say 12ish? Any ideas as to best place to meet Rodeo, Enthusia, and hopefully Laylandsethsmum? My sponge brain has forgotten former tip (was it house of fraser cafe?).
LOL Golden at your wine-fest!! oooh, wouldn't like to hazard a guess at syns per wine BOTTLE...oooh, you are in big trouble . I weighed myself today and i'm exactly the same weight as last week's weigh in . May resort to the 'no eating after midday' desperatos strategy for tommorrow's weigh-in, though this is a pathetic strategy that I despise in others!! Well, it comes to us all...
Laylaandsethsmum: re: thrashing baby, I had this with dd2, and found tucking her left arm REALLY firmly under mine while feeding did the trick .
Brownie - your grandad's birthday sounded lovely - he must have been really touched ; it brought a lump to my throat reading your post.
Well, Sunday night ironing calls...

Oh Browniechick, hope your grandad gets better soon, did you say why he was in hospital? Lovely for him of have a photo of T My gran is in hospital too at the mo with debilitating back pain, she's on painkillers and having an MRI scan tomorrow so hopefully they'll be able to sort her out. It's awful when the old's are ill, it really takes it out of them, like babies really

S&Lsmum, LOL we went to Thorpe today for a walk. Rang my dad tonight and he was at Black Rocks today with the dogs! We were at BR last Sunday! The weather was great today, had a lovely time but crossing the stepping stones at Dovedale with 2 children and a baby was a bit precarious!! Yes let me know about Friday, fingers crossed! Joe told dp about Layla trying to kiss him, he was trying to be unimpressed by it but he was secretly pleased!

Twinkle, we wondered where you were! How's your nan? Hope she's getting better. Looking forward to MH too BTW, Your question marks make me laugh! ?????????

Yes Diege, I think it was House of Fraser cafe Bob suggested? I'm sure the Southerners don't go on about their meets as much as we have about ours Your MIL sounds sounds nearly as bad as Bobs!

Beks, hope you are better today and the boys have managed to avoid it

Nova, 1hr 20mins ?! That's AWFUL, they probably think us SAHM have nothing better do then hang around and wait for appts. Having Jess weighed on Thurs, think she's about 14-15lbs. Nat is long for her age though isn't she, whereas Jess is a shorty! Wouldn't worry about Nat's weight (though I'm sure your not) she'll be a long runner bean when she starts crawling and walking. They'll be running about this time next year it's going to go by soooo fast! Will talk to Diege and co about a trip to London on Fri, would love to meet you and Nat, and the rest of the Londoner's

Feel rather guilty actually because I've not taken many pics of Jess or recorded much on the camcorder, must make more effort! Also, and I'm really about this, we've lost the first film roll of her (birth, hospital, coming home etc) I am gutted, really hoping it will turn up....Which saint is it I should pray too? (come on, I'm desparate!)

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend

Right off for a cup of tea, and to beg dp to get me a Dairy Milk to dip in it Night all

at least you're getting all yours weighed, mine hasn't been weighed since the beginning of December! We tried doing it in a grocery scale once but can't really trust the results since he was wearing a coat, and Clint was holding him up. But he's out of his 0-3mth clothes now, so can't be bad

On the zafira subject - we got an alhambra but heard that zafiras are very nice to drive. But the back seats are only suitable for children since no legroom.

Morning all! . Hope your gran's scan goes OK Rodeo. LOL at us and our MH preparations! I was thinking the same thing when I posted last . Shall we say House of Fraser cafe then? Not sure of time I'll get there yet until I speak to Twinkle, and also Enthusia will need to get her train times? We could provisionally say about mid-day perhaps?
Libby gets her second lot of jabs today ; should be pleased , but you know how it is... Doing my PND questionnaire too. Luckily I feel fine, but remember last time fibbing really badly .
Well, time to get moving..

Oh and I hardly ever get Libby weighed either Beartime; just when essential, at her checks etc, but try to avoid the whole charts/percentiles thing. Would of course go if any concerns, but the whole environment of our clinic is so pressured and nerve wracking...

Morning all!

I got into my jeans
OK they are a bit tight but I got them on without a coathanger (that ad makes me giggle!) and as long as the t-shirt doesn't ride up to reveal the overhang its fine!

Golden - isn't there a SW category for medical emergencies, I'm sure a bottle of wine should fit into that

Nova - there is somethimg about HV clinic's, they are always roasting hot. Tessa and I are usually stripped to the bare minimum by the time Ash is weighed (and he's naked by then!) Not bothering to go now though as its plain to everyone that he is the picture of health.

Brownie - photo frame sounds lovely.

Rodeo - hope the film turns up, its awful when that happens. Know what you mean about not taking as many photos. By the time Tessa was 3 weeks old we had filled a 300 photo album Did get a little more selective after that but poor Ash will certainly have something to complain about when he's older!

If the Northerners are planning to come South I'll definitely make it into London.

May have some major rearranging and negotiating to do this week! Ash is growing out of the very large Moses basket and needs to be in his cot. It won't fit in our room (Moses basket is on top of chest of drawers!) DH says just put him in front bedroom/office but I can't see that working, I'm not even sure cot will fit where Dh says it can go. Other option is to put him straight in with Tessa but that means getting rid of an enormous wardrobe. Again DH says just put him in with wardrobe as well but that means no play space and Tessa likes playing in her room sometimes. Think I am going to put my foot down on this one and insist that children's room is just that and not another place to store 'stuff'.
Beware, there may be sparks Oh the joys of moving into your DH's family home

Right, better go and at least put a load of washing in before the dash back to pre-school!

Report
BEKsmum · 06/02/2006 13:37

Hi ya

Tessa lol when I first read your message I thought you said your dh said to put Ash in the wardrobe now that wouldn't be nice!!!

Have just been and got Thomas weighed and he's 14lb 10oz little chunky monkey! He's also 61cm long.

Rodeo hope the film turns up, you must be gutted, funny that you mentioned photo's though as I felt guilty that I haven't started an album yet for Thomas & put a cd of 150 prints in this morning! Ben is nearly 4 an we have over a 1000 photos of him - how the hell did we manage that

Thomas has suddenly turned ito a real little chatter box now which Ben finds hilarious.

What age are they supposed to roll over? I feel really bad on Thomas as he doesn't get to lay on the floor very much in case his big footed brother steps on him, I just don't want him to fall behind.

Right best go and play with Thomas while he's awake & Ben is at school. Beks

beks-around 4 months, im like you, alfs not on the floor alot as ds1 is v likely to tread on him, i feel him may be lagging behind a little as hes not getting as much stimulation as ds1 did when he was a baby. hes still not smiling alot whereas ds1 started at 6wks and was laughing by 7wks......i do try and put him on floor/bed for "tummy time" when im getting changed and his head control seem to be getting alot better

hi all..

my god can't belive how big all the babies are getting. oskar is being weighed tomorrow, can't wait! they have never measured his length though, is it routine?

oskar has a bad blocked nose..i aksed in boots for one of those sucky pipette things, but the pharmacist looked at me as though i was crazy and gave me some saline nose drops...all they do is just make him sneeze, which i guess will help.

things are better with dp, i went out for a long lunch yesterday and he did all the sterilizing and laundry hile i was out, then made me a cup of coffee this morning..hooray.hope it lasts..

tex..loved the article! i must admit though i cheated and read it in sainsburys without buying it, i'm trying to wean myself off magazines at the moment..lol

Bob getting them measured isn't routine, I was just cheeky when i went up to the clinic today!
