Lovely new thread, thanks klou!
Yeh stillborn :(. I don't think it's one of the babies born on the show. It looks like it was one of the ladies' last baby. I've recorded it so think I'll brave watching it.
Will Euan fit in the 12-18 month one now or is it just so you have it for when he grows?

madkatz the book klou suggested is good. I've not started but I think I'll be going with the times to introduce and the type of food etc.

klou did you stick to how many spoonfuls etc it says? Or just let him have as much as he wanted from the start?

Report
KLou111 · 23/02/2012 19:47

Yeah, I stuck to it, seemed to be ok.
I've put him in his bag as the neck was the same, just length different :)
Don't think I could watch that iwish :(

It's ok I watched it klou. It was just talking about the ladies previous birth. It wasn't bad honestly.
It says like 1/2 spoons of baby rice on the first day but it doesn't seem a lot. I suppose it will after their milk tho....
We have some 6-12 months ones but they look massive compared to the 0-6 lol.

Report
KLou111 · 23/02/2012 21:01

I think the amount at first are to get the little one used to eating off a spoon :) If you're starting at 6 months though, I think it speeds up the amount a bit quicker.
Yeah, this one is massive compared to his 0-6, mad how much they grow isn't it!
Glad obem not bad, brave woman :)
Have you seen this abortion thing on the news about woman not wanting certain sexes? 2 words FUCKING SICK!!!!!!!!!

oh klou you are a good gal!1Grin

hey gruf hope you are keeping well and not running yourself ragged too much!!

iwish really dont worry about hte amounts in the first couple of weeks, its just to get htem used to moving things to te back of their mouth and used to hving something other than milk in ther mouth.

for hte last few weeks i have been giving violet about 1 dessert spoon of breakfast, she never seems interested in breakfast as its straight after her morning bottle nad i donth ave time to give her a break between the two. then half a jar of savoury and half a jar of sweet for both dinner and tea. shes 31 weeks today

OBEM was fine, not as interesting i thought, but not overly sad, you dont see anything sad, just literally 3-4 mins of hte lady talking about her loss. must have been awful for her and i really dont think you would get over something like that, you cna understand her wories, well both the mother and the pregnant lady

He's had a bit of pureed grape before so I know he can swallow ok. He swallows calpol ok too lol. Doesn't spill a drop Grin
I think I'll give him his 2 spoons and see how he gets on.

Omg klou I heard that on he news, absolutely discusting!! The people who want the abortion shouldn't be able to have children and the people who actually do the procedure should be ashamed!! Put the poor thing up for adoption if you really don't want it!!! I just wanted to cry when I heard it.

Thanks liz it helps to know what violet is eating too, I wouldn't have a clue otherwise. Joshua is 23 weeks on Sunday, think I might start on some baby rice next weekend.

Going shopping tomorrow for some fruit and veg etc for him.

I'm just watching a programme called 'I didn't know I was pregnant'. Omg this woman was pregnant with twins and didn't know!!

i havent hear anything about this abortion thing. but then not had 2 mins to read a paper, and i am def not allowed to watch any normal telly when lulu is about. shame disney jnr dont show the newsGrin

i have seen that programme before iwish its quite bizzarre. but i do actually know a woman who didnt know till she was 6 months gone, shes a big girl but was drinking and banger racing, just normal living, baby turned out fine. to make it worse, she never even wanted kids. at all. even went to the docs years before to see about getting sterilised but as she was young at the time they wouldnt do it. now that baby is a 6 year old boy and she would be without him. but she recons she didnt have a clue she was expecting

So far I've given Sophie Baby Rice, Baby Porridge, Banana, Carrot, Pear, Swede, Apple and Petit Filous. She has rice or porridge for breakfast, then a veg puree at lunchtime, then fruit puree or yoghurt at teatime. She eats 2 ice cubes of her purees and half a petit filous. The only one she isn't sure on is the swede, so I think I'm going to have to mix it into the carrot. Still got Courgette, avocado, pumpkin and sweet potato in the freezer for her to try.

Hi all, I can't open it at the mo Liz the website wants me to download the app before I can open it! I'll have a look on computer.
Strange isn't how you don't know yours preg, do they not even feel the movement??
The abortion thing is awful, basically women getting to their 20 week scan finding out the sex, and if its not what they want, getting rid, like iwish said, shouldn't be allowed to have kids after that.
If they are going to start that, really gender selection should be brought in. Ok, not ideal, but better than abortion!!

Sophie is doing really well with her food from the sound of it madkatz.

Well, Euan STILL got his cold, think.we've all had enough now! Didn't hear a peep 7-12 last night, then it started!! Every 15-20 mins we were up. Only break was 4-6.45, then he was awake at 7.15. We are all knackered. Going to strap him back in til it's gone, as it doesn't help him moving around the cot and kicking his feet.
How is violet now with rolling over Liz?

strap him back in what klou?

we had a crap night last night too, she was crying, but from 2 till 3.30 she was just awake making noises, i relented and gave her a bottle at 3.30 as i knew it would make her sleepy again, and she still didnt go to sleep till about 4.30, then wide awake at 7.45. she better be better tonight

lizandlulu · 25/02/2012 16:24

oh and re the rolling over, she did it last night quite abit, at one point she was upside down in the cot! upside down and on her front. bloody child is getting quite mobile!!

Lol liz that's v v funny!! How are you today and how's violet?

Wow madkatz she has tried quite a few things. Sounds like she is doing well. How is her sleeping now?

Awww poor Euan klou bet you are all shattered. The only way we could get Joshua to sleep when he was sick was for him to sleep in our bed.
No the ladies on the programmes didn't feel any movement, still had periods, didn't get a big bump etc. you couldn't miss the fact that I was pregnant lol, I was huge!!

Joshua was in bed last night at 7:15. He was up at 10:10 for milk, UBS making noises at about 3:30 then didn't get up till 6:10 for milk!! Then back to sleep till 7:40! Grin Grin. Would you say that's a 2nd night of sleeping through?

Just made some carrot purée and swede purée. Going to make some apple, pear and peach purée tonight too. Didn't have enough trays to do them now. Only got 6 trays and we used 5 with carrot and swede!

Iwish · 25/02/2012 16:30

Sorry cross post!! Sorry you had a crap night. Sounds like my child and yours kind of swapped places!!
Joshua isn't even entertaining rolling. He will go on his side in his cot by himself but that's it.

KLou111 · 25/02/2012 16:42

Strap him back in with a sheet lol, as he's in his sleeping bag, so between his cold, and moving around he's up most the night!
I'm taking him to the docs on Monday if he's no better.

Lol upside down Liz!

That was a good night iwish, yes it seems they've all swapped sleeping patterns!!

I hope he carries on having good nights klou just need him to move each feed on a couple of hours. So instead of feeding 10:00 and 6:00 he should do 12:00 and 8:00 Grin
Good idea to take Euan to the docs on Monday if he's still sick. They can check him over.

Poor Joshua is shattered tonight. He hasn't slept really today. He had his eyes closed through his feeds but that's it. He's just having his milk now then going to bed.

Afternoon :)
Well had a fab night, Euan back to sleeping, thank god! Did 7pm-6.30am, went back off but had to get up to put his dummy in about 6.50, and saw his bloody blackout window stuff had come off! He woke at 7.45 after that :)

Still a bit snotty, but seems much better. Had a few bits of toast and butter this morning (thin fingers) seemed to go down well, fed himself too :)
So gorgeous here today, was yesterday too. Nice to sit in conservatory and be warm, Euan a lot happier in there too.

How's everyone else doing today? X

Hey all!

Did he enjoy his toast klou? Bet it was totally different to the purées for him. Glad he slept better last night too.
Did you do anything nice today?

Joshua went to bed at 7:30 ish then up at 12:50 for a feed and 6:10 for a feed. He did wake at 4:30 crying a little. I left him for 5 mins then went in. BAD IDEA he just started crying more, think he wanted my attention so I left him and he was asleep within 5 mins after a good old scream.

He went to bed at 7:30 again tonight, hope he sleeps ok.

Made a couple more bits of food today, bit of potato and some peach. Now he has apple, pear, peach, carrot, swede and potato. We have loads, hope it doesn't go off before he can eat it!

yes think you are right iwish sounds like you have been busy!
hope you have a good night, last night doesnt sound too bad, at least he has a regular bedtime now, it wasnt that long ago he was going to bed at 10pm was it? see how you have managed that when it seems like an impossibility? (sorry that sounds condesending, but you know what i mean, things happen gradually without you noticing you are doing it)Smile

i have given violet some toast, she just kind of looked at t, waved it around and dropped it all over. she has this kind of royal wave that she does when shes holding anything smallish, kind of rotates her wrist, its quite funny!

i have been out today with mum and dad as chris was off roading (yet another hobby) and stopped at a puyb for sunday lunch. i didnt even have to give violet her jar dinner as she ate some of her own, mash potato and swede with abit of gravy. the server kindly gave me a plastic bowl for her! she seems fine wit lumps, although the larger lumps just seem to find their was out of her mouth!

she had some of my peas yesterday is asda cafe! went down wellGrin

Think Euan liking his toast (Bella liking it too lol when he drops it!!) Had some more this morning.
Taking him to the docs in a bit as still coughing and nose running still :(

Hope Joshua slept ok iwish, yeah, purees I was using by 6 weeks as that was what's recommended.
Have got Euan on lumpier stuff now rather than puree, seems to be ok on it, but does take him longer to eat

Oops pressed post button!!

Glad violet doing well Liz, good of the pub to give her a bowl :)

Euan has his Sunday dinner in the fridge, pork, peas, carrot, butternut squash, roast potato, yorkie and bit of gravy. He loves it. He seems ok on pork although think you're not meant to give them it yet cos it's salty, but only give him a tiny bit :)
