Blimey, how tall are you all? Goal weights seem positively skinny to me.

Report
uwila · 08/01/2006 15:23

5 ft 2 inches... so a perfectly resonable goal. No Victoria Beckham anorexia here.

I'm about the same - 5ft 2,3 inches tall. I'm struggling to fit into my size 12 jeans atm though. I'm expecting that my period will throw out tomorrow's result though. Doesn't help that dh isn't dieting and him and ds keep eating doughnuts and biscuits in front of me.

I wanted to do a weight clinic type thing but hate the weigh in's and the feeling of being spoken down to iykwim...I also felt under so much pressure and our clinic is at night and I would rather spend the time with dh. I know I CAN DO IT on my own !!!! Good luck with the dvd. I agree Charlie Brooks does look amazing AND she has had a baby recently as well..!

I'd like to join
Current weight; 9st5lb
Goal weight; 8st 7lb
Date to achieve goal; 12th May, dd's birthday
Diet method; eat healthily and excercise more, also get weight loss info pack from work so hoping to get ideas from that.
weigh in day; Sunday
I'm also only 5ft2, and I'm fed up with having a roll of tummy hanging over my jeans and want to get back in to my size 10 combats! Want to wear close fitting t-shirts in the summer too.

I know what you mean about the clinic weight-ins Shhhh. I used to go to WW and although knowing I was going to be weighed was a really good incentive, I hated the patronising attitude of the people behind the desk. They used to say 'hmmm you've put on a 1lb this week' in a 'you've been eating cream cakes again haven't you, you naughty naughty girl' tone of voice. You feel about 6 years old.

Yay! 9st 5lbs today! I think it's a bit unlikely I've lost 2lbs though. I was very bloaty last week so that could explain it. I expect to lose 1lb a week and I don't think that I can cut down on food any more so at least I now know it's working.

Oh dear, just had weigh in at work and I'm 9st8lbs. I don't think I've really gained 3lbs, just comes from being weighed straight after lunch fully dressed as I usually get weighed first thing in the moring naked! I hope not anyway. They also did my % body fat, I'm 32.7 and should be between 24-30 so definitely need to lose some. We're having weigh-ins and Body fat % every fortnight at work until March, I've pledged to lose 5lb by March. Interesting to see the body fat % too. Need to start dieting properly, its just hard at the moment as we've still go chocolates, nuts and cheese from Christmas and I hate throwing food away, will just have to have a little bit each day.

The time of day is soo important when weighing. I always weigh myself straight away when I get up too. The problem with ww is that it's an evening class and I used to come home from work and then not eat dinner until after the class at 7:30pm so I was starving. It wasn't very healthy!

What is the body fat stuff about, littleb? How do they measure it? I'd be terrified that I'd be about 95% fat

I think the treats are important. I am having a few squares of chocolate a day too.

I only weigh myself first thing in the morning before I eat or drink anything and after I go for a wee. Hey, every little bit helps.

Boy am I hungrier. Would really like to dig into the pizza in the fridge. But I suppose I'll behave myself and go to bed...

The body fat thing is strange, they tape electrodes onto your feet and hands and a small electric current passes through you and from this they can tell how much of you is pure fat! Its supposed to be a better indicator of how much you need to lose than just weight. It also takes into account fitness because muscle weighs more than fat. Have to see if it changes!

9 st - 8.5lb (1 1/2 pounds down from last week).

I made thw whole weeks worth of lunches this weekend so that should as they are more healthful than anything I could buy at work. And, strictly no beer drinking this week (until the weekend). Must crack out my new video. Didn't really know what to get so I got the Davina one -- mostly because it has 3 30 minute workouts. And 30 minutes is about all I've got. What videos do other people have and do you like them?

9st 4lbs this morning :-) 3lbs lost in total.
Although I did really binge yesterday. If I'm not really hungry all the time then I'm eating too much!
Next week's reading won't be quite so good unless I really concentrate.

hi all, glad to hear your doing well.

ive started my healthy eating and its going quite well apart from the weekends. (chocolate to tempting)

starting weight: not really sure and don't think i want to know, but i know it will be much more than anyone elses, so i might not actually memtion it again hehe!
Goal weight: 9st 7lb
Diet method: healthy eating, trying to cut down on junk (choc, crips, coke etc) and finding some time to exercise probley the divina dvd.
Weigh in day: whenever ive got the courage to actually find out i surpose.

im really not happy with the way i am, and know id be much happier if i looked better, but the only trouble i have is, i never have time to exercise what with ds awake till at least 10 each night and college work coming out my ears i just don't know where im gonna fit it in. and being busy all the time means i just grab what evers easiest to eat nd most of the time its what i shouldn't be eating. so any ideas on how i can do it are more than welcome.

well thats my winge over, i really should stop feeling sorry for myself and just do something about it.

take care everyone and hope you all continue to do so well.

mm at least you are making the changes to loose weight. I am sure we will all help each other as much as possible.
Well I am 1 lb lighter which is better than nothing. I suppose I expected to be 1 stone lighter by the end of the week .

I am also eating healthy and allowing a little bit of choc or a couple of jaffa cakes at night. DH is also trying to eat healthily so it's a great help. I want to be thinner by dd's 1st birthday and for her christening in July and esp for our next baby project ...

How is everyone going on..?

Shhhh, 1lb a week is good. I've done ww before and lost 18lbs in 18 weeks (I sound like an advert ) but that was an average, my weight went up a few lbs one week and down a few the next...

Congratulations on everybodys weight loss

I stil haven't heard anything from Sure Start about when the healthy eating course is starting, but when I do, I'll definitely be joining this thread then (and I can't wait - DH is moaning that he is getting fat too, so it must be my cooking )

I think the hardest thing for me to give up will be lashings of butter on my toast and bacon sandwiches Still, posting here should help me. I hope.
