OHH grace is one today. She has just gone for a quick nap. She took fruit to nursery to share with the other babies and dd1 took cornflake cakes to share with her friends. She has opened one pressie (a shape sorter from ebay from her big sis) and her present from us is sitting in the post office! We got her a noah's ark - so she can take the pieces in and out!

Can't belive this time a year ago I was sat holding a tiny helpless baby - wondering what she would turn out like - god how much she has grown and learnt and changed - it is amazing!

DD's playing with the CD drawer on the pooter and trying to press the off button long enough to restart me - I keep moving her away but she keeps giggling and running back for more!

I'm gettin excited about DD's birthday. She'll be one on 31st. My mum has bought her a lovely little white embroidered dress with matching pants! And she has a little cat outfit too (as it'll be Halloween).

My parents are coming down for the day and we'll be at DH parents the weekend before. Only shame is I dont know anyone that lives nearby so it wont really be a party as such.

Hello...not been on much lately as our house has a big cross on the door as there is so much illness. The chimpster has been really poorly with a virus complete with temperature of 39. He's not been eating just b/f all the time so I now have veeeerrry sore boobs and look about sixty from lack of sleep. My eldest has passed his stinking cold on to me and I have spent the last two days wanting to sneeze all the time and wandering around looking up at the sky trying to encourage the sneeze to come....you know what I mean..when you look really gormless coz the tingling starts and sometimes the sneeze just won't come so you stand there looking up at the light with your mouth open. very attractive .
Still haven't sorted out the wheely bug yet, I really must get my act together or his birthday will be here before I know it.

spookylips..MMR !!!

Hi all, I like your dress Cazzy, it's nice and simple and the flowers are unusual.
Soon you will have the house to yourself biglips!! I wonder if your mum will be more keen to carry out babysitting duties if she sees less of baba?
I'm not having a great day so far, the boiler seems to have stopped working, so we have had no hot water since last night. No bath for Alf, no bath for mummy, no washing up by daddy. It's a total pain. And I have to empty our giant store cupboard to reach the boiler and pay some flipping cowboy a million pounds for 5 minutes work most likely.
I'm currently conducting a bit of research on the internet to see what the most likely cause is and it looks like being the thermostat. There are instructions for changing it, but they look ghastly, so I don't think I'll bother trying.
Wah!!!!
Took Alfie to sing and sign on Wednesday, he was the most lunatic baby there, getting up on the lady's lap all the time and trying to hug all the other babies. He knocked over one little girl with his enthusiastic cuddles, then her mum rescued her and he continued to try to cuddle the little girl. Her mum said 'He's very affectionate isn't he?!' as she tried to fend him off.
Don't think he was even vaguely interested in the signing, but the lady running the class said he had done well (not sure we share the same interpretation of the word 'well')but hey ho!
Not very shy then!
Hugs to chimpy! Hope he is back on his hands and knees soon!

maisie - as mine is exactly like that as baba was trying to grab this big teddy bear off this little girl and everyone had told me that she is very strong so i was worried that she hurt the little girl who is like a little gentle lamb!! and when we were clapping after we finished a song.. baba was laughing really loud as she thought everyone was clapping for her!!! (awww it was so sweet!)

yesterday a lady came to my house (as im on a course called Early Start) and the lady comes every week to swap toys around (its the lady toys from teh course) so she showed baba a dolly and a milk bottle..... baba was feeding the dolly (i was feeling so emotional!!! as ive never seen her like that before)

last year , a week before xmas our boiler clapped out cos there was water pouring out of the boiler so for a week we had no baths, heating omly a electric fire which was left on all day as baba was 2 months at the time)...

oh yeah... babab had her first real tantrum yesterday at my mates house as she had a banana and then she got the banana and start eating that too so i said "ta" and she usually gives it to me but she wouldnt for ages so i took if off her and had to ignore her... my mate said "looks like she is having her terrible twos already!" which i explained to my mate that baba had never done that before

Maisie boiler sympathy vibes from here, we got a new one last week after not having one for 6 months (had water but no heating). DS2 got bitten by another child yestaday, he is so laid back really will have to learn to stick up for himself. I've invited all the people I know round here with babies his age to come round for cake on Friday while the other 2 are out - it'll be the first time he's had friends round, guess thats what happens when you're number 3. Bellie, are you around? Want to join us?

Cazzy...I love the dress. I saw one like that when I got married a couple of years ago. It was on my shortlist.

Chimpy is much better, he's started eating again now so he must be feeling better. He actually let me spoon fed him today which makes a change as he's been insisting on either finger food or feeding himself recently. He has also started throwing tantrums when he can't have things or someone takes something off him. He shouts and does the equivalent of stamping his feet.

Maisie...Is it a combination boiler? could be the diverter valve.

spookylips · 12/10/2005 18:27

riebee - what ive been doing for the past couple of weeks is that we have been playing the "ta" game... baba gives me the spoon and i say "Ta" and repeat it back to her and she say "ta"!.. did that for a while.. so nowadays if she had summat that i dont want her to have, i said "ta" and she gives it to me and i walk away so she is fine with that but if i grab it off her, she starts screaming.... the only prob that we have is the keys, i say "ta" and she flung them at me and start screaming as she knows that she got to give them to mummy even though she didnt want to - TOUGH!!

Happy birthday everyone! It's DD's birthday today - can't believe she is one. This time last year my waters had broken and I was wondering when the contractions would start...

DS opened her presents this morning but was a bit disappointed as quite a few of them are clothes! I have also given her a small drum thingy from Gymboree and a new shape sorter as the old one has lost all its shapes, and I think I will get a Little People set for her for Xmas so DS can play with her. But most of the time she just pokes at DS's stuff - loves pulling Lego blocks apart, chewing on everything and generally emptying the toy boxes. She is physically more adept than DS at this age - very quick as well! She is now eating pretty much what DS eats, apart from the chocolate and biscuits - she'll get her first taste of birthday cake at the weekend.

BTW cazzybabs that is a really lovely dress - really different.

Hi guys, ds has had another chest infection but is over it now luckily!

He has been smiling loads more and he has been starting to make some noises other than crying! Im sure he was kinda laughing yesterday.

His birthday is next wednesday the day after dp's!! Having a little party for family and a couple of friends next weekend too. Hopefully he will get some clothes as he is just getting a bit big now for 6-9 month size.

I havent had him weighed for about a month but he last weighed 15lb 3oz!!!!

Had an ot from social services out to nursery to see if he really needed the chair that has been ordered for him. She had no doubts about giving the ok once she saw him and tried to sit him up, he sat how he normally does (pretty floppy and slumped)and then she saw him in the chair that we have at nursery which is the same one that we will get for home. He looks so grown up in the chair!!!

Things are still going through with the sale of the flat and the buying of our new house which is great and we hope to be moved by xmas!!!

Anyway i have gabbled on for a while, glad everyone is ok and a HUGE HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all your lo's x x x x x

jbadgirl - glad to hear things are going ok - we've just started buying another house so fingers crossed! William (now he's one and all growed up he's not babymole anymore, well, only when him and mummy are having a snuggle)is a tiddler, he's 54 wks and is only in 9 mths clothes and they are huge on him! I had the opposite problem with ds1 - he was huge. He's not been very well - puking (proper pukes not just reflux pukes!)so his sleeping has been even worse if thats possible. He found an old plastic ball and a little tikes car that belonged to ds1 and he keeps giggling at himself as he races around trying to catch them. He's a real smiley little boy, except at bedtime. Off on our jollies on Sunday, dd2s bithday so October is a very expensive month for us, its also dh's and my mum's in October. We've almost finished sorting my Grandma's Estate out, accepted an offer on her house yesterday so hopefully more time on MN!

Anyway, sorry to have waffled so much. Hope everyone's ok.

Hi all,
Thanks for the sympathy about the stinky water heater!!!!
we might have fixed the hot water situation. It is an electric immersion heater and dp's dad was snuffling around in the cupboard and discovered that one of the wires (looks like a plug) was fried, so he cut the end off and rewired it all. SO we are waiting to see if the water heats up at 'white meter' time tonight and there is water tomorrow....
Yay!
or Not Yay!
Those baby classes are ridiculous, I don't think one baby in that class on Monday, could sign anything. They all just sat like a circle of little lumps staring at the lady (probably a bit young to do much). They made Alfie look crazed, as he was one of the few moving babies. He was also the baby with the least hair - it's ridiculous all the 8 month olds with a full head and Alfie like Alf(ie) Garnett.
I'm glad the ill babies are on the mend Riebee & Jbad.
Kath we have that clothes thing with Alfie - he still has tops and trousers for 3-6 months that he can fit. OK the sleeves are a bit short.
I think clothes sizing for bubs is ludicrous. We got a 12-18 month size daysuit the other day which is almost too little.
Aaah William, no more babymole.
What about just mole or moley or moleyboy or littlemole???

Report
KathH · 14/10/2005 07:08

Masiemog - quite like moley. From this day forward he shall be known as moley
