How do you celebrate it? Should we be doing something booze related special?

Nicename- it's a personal thing. You don't have to mark the occasion at all if you don't want to. If you feel like having a tipple then why not.

Happy Solstice, isn't it a lovely day? I did greet the sunrise with a small glass of wine this morning to round off my ritual and am absolutely shattered now Grin
Early night for me...

Happy Summer Solstice from me too :)

I am a Christian Pagan - work that one out! - so I am enjoying the fact that it is the Solstice but I haven't yet worked out how to celebrate...getting slightly tipsy at the moment to be honest.

What is a christian pagan?

Confused! I believe in elements of both Christianity and Paganism.

The term "Christian Pagan" is occasionally seen as a description of an individual who participates at some level within an established Christian church, while functioning at a deeper level as a Pagan who has yet to "come out of the broom closet".

I would have thought there are clashes between the two. Satan for example.

I've never really accepted that part of Christianity to be honest.

Isn't that pretty fundamental? Jesus died for our sins etc? I thought christianity was all about good & evil.

Yes, I believe in Jesus and all of that, I just don't really believe in Satan - I think it's a construct really.

But do you believe that jesus died for you? I thought that was all about delivering humaity from evil- where does all that sit if no devil?

Yes, I do believe that about Jesus. Evil comes from free will, God gave us free will and we can do good or evil with that. Some choose good, some don't.

deepbluetr · 22/06/2014 14:16

So god exists but not the devil? Who is creating all the evil then?

We are, by our action.

So good is an extrinsic force, but not evil?
