Hi CD, just to really drop you in it, training starts 15th

I just re-read my letter telling me about it... at the bottom, they've slipped in that I've got NINE study evenings in 6 months. Doesn't sound much, but what with everything else, it wasn't in the original documentation.... . Pray that DH isn't TOO upset with me when he finds out! Especially as I've signed up for the next Emmaus course when it starts.....

Not a prayer, but just thought I'd share this.... after losing my cross and chain, its been missing for a while now, I set out to find another one, and found one I liked. Started wearing it to work, 'outing' myself . Had a conversation at the coffee machine with the head of dept. She must have glanced down at my neck area at LEAST 10 times, it was blatantly obvious! She never said anything though - really made me want to LOL!

Please pray for a friend off another BB. She and her DH have been hoping to adopt for a LONG time. For 3 months they've been hanging on, hoping to adopt a particular baby boy who they'd been told about and given details on... now they've been turned down, because they're American Even though they've made the UK their home and they work here and have no plans to go back . They're gutted.

I want to say a big thank you for all the prayers and kindness you have all sent my way recently, it is very much appreciated I'm off on my holidays tomorrow and DH and I have managed to pack the car without rowing and all our stuff went into the car too. I'm very excited, our first holiday with both my little boys.

MaryBS, that's so sad I don't understand the logic at all, and how cruel to let them see all the details and then take their chance away.

Katzg, good luck in advance as I won't be here and for you CaptainDippy for your training

Thank you for your prayers.

CD- am still feeling incredibly nauseous all the time which is very tiring. 11.5 weeks so hopefully things will improve soon.

The school situation continues although the press interest has calmed down. It is our school fair tomorrow, so I hope there will be a good turn out- most people I have spoken with are coming mainly 'cos it's a good do, but also to support the head. Hopefully we can all come together, relax and have a bit of fun.

Hello there!

Sorry about getting the date wrong MaryBS - Only two days out though - not soooo bad!!

Praying for you as you undertake the reader course and the Emmaus course - much admiration coming from DippyLand - I am trying to weigh up whether I want to train to be an Antenatal Teacher for the NCT or not. It's a HND and I am not too sure whether it is too much to take on right now or not. Difficult choice.

about your friends being turned down for adoption - becuase they are American - What exactly does that have to do with anything!!!? Feeling so for them and hoping legislation changes soon or something so that their dream of being parents can come true. xx

Hope you have a wonderful holiday Kate100 - Think you need it!!

All ok in Dippyland - DD's still not great, but doing all right - "Chld-sitting" for a couple from churches four children today - as well as our two - We must be mad!!

Thats fine - just want the prayers to start in time thats all

I'll pray for you that you make the right decision about the NCT course - sometimes you have to take a leap of faith (I can tell you about that! )

As for my friends, they CAN adopt, but they were turned down for this child, over a British couple, from what I can understand. This was after 3 months of being led to believe it was between them and one other couple, then being told that the other couple were no longer contenders, so they thought they were there, and THEN being told that the social workers had found another couple.... dreadful isn't it?

Pray that DD is better soon, and that today goes OK with the house full!

If I've missed you Kate, hope you have a good holiday and catch you when you get back (and this thread is about 500 posts long )

Pudmog, hope and pray you get over the sickness soon. Pray that all goes well at the fair, that its well attended and that there is no disruption

Not doing very well, am I!!? Really hope your friends find a little one to adopt soon - and seconding your comments to Pudmog esp. re: sickness, poor thing. When's your scan?? Bet you're really excited!!

Leap of Faith .... Mmmmmmmmmm .......

Hi everyone, sorry it's been a while we've been kinda hectic here plus had PILs staying this last week.

Congratulations MaryBS, and to CD on the whole job thing.

Kate100, so sorry to read your sad news, glad the funeral went well and although it's hard being the strong one, well done you for being so good to everyone and being there for them - not easy .

Pudmog, hope you're keeping well and that you've had no more scares.

Have had a quick look through the end of the old thread, hello and welcome to the new faces . Not convinced I'm totally up to speed but am still praying for you all.

Please pray for us here - PILs bought sad news with them, dh's uncle who was diagnosed with oesophogeal cancer just after dd was born back in september is extremely ill just now and we think we're gong to lose him soon. He's a christian and the family have a lot of great support from their church. We really wanted him to hang on until October when his youngest daughter is due to be married but just doesn't look possible. So sad for his wife as she's been through a lot especially with us losing Grandpa recently, they were looking fwd to retirment and it's just all so rubbish. Thanks x

Twiga - I hope and pray that he'll survive to the Wedding at least... you never know, something like that may give him enough strength. I'm glad he's a Christian, it will help. I pray that his strength stays strong and his reward will be in heaven.

CD - sorry, never meant to keep picking you up on things . Have you thought and prayed any more about that course? Its hard making that decision... how much time will you have to commit to it?

School fair was wonderful- even had a steel band playing that was booked months ago- ha! so we're not a multi-cultural school then!!!!

Sorry to sound glum- hate this hot waether- making me feel and be sick far more.Booking in next week with m/w so will get a date for scan then.

Went to church this am, but felt like a total alien. The service was ok- the visiting vicar was hilarious, but coffee afterwards was awful. Long story and can't be bothered to go into it all- but i hate it, having bad feelings especially after communion, but I can't help it when i see people behaving in such a terrible way, that effects and hurts others, especially the leadership of the church. Can't wait for the new vicar to start in August.

Hello - Conference was really good - very motivational and inspirational; but would have preferred to be there with someone else - Didn't really speak to anyone and sat alone in a corner with my book to eat my lunch - Got loads of free stuff though and I think it strengthened my resolve to do the Antenatal Teacher training too. Still have my doubts though - think I need to see how everything goes with going back to work etc first and then make a decision - keep praying!!

So about your DH's Uncle Twiga. Like MaryBS said, maybe he will make it to Oct?? Having something to "live for" has an amazing effect on people sometimes - Praying for his nearest and dearest and for the whole of the wider family too. Keep us posted. Praying lots. xx

No worries MaryBS - I don't mind - you are a wee bit older than me after all!!

Oh Pudmog - poor thing, I remember being in early pregnancy with DD1 (concieved in May, born in Feb) throughout the long, hot summer of 2003. It was dreadful - I felt as sick as a dog and I just didn't know what to do with myself - at least I didn't have other children to worry about as well, you poor poor thing - Praying the sickness eases off soon - Let us know when your scan is going to be - Exciting stuff!!

Pants to the whole church situation too. Hoping and praying the new Vicar makes a huge difference and that some resolve comes to the situation. DH and I are very unsettled in our church too - so you are not alone!! Lots of prayers needed about it for both of us, I think, eh!!?

Continued prayers for your school to - glad the fayre went well - esp the steel band () "Don't let the buggers grind you down" and all that ....... Keep us posted.

Well - 1st day of training tomorrow, so need to quickly do a couple of bits and get myself off to bed. Love and Hugs and Prayers to all. xxxx

CD - praying hard for you that you make the right decision over this course, and that your new job goes well as well

Praying for everyone who's having trouble in the Vicar dept.... sorry, you can't have ours, we're hanging onto him here! Good Vicars are few and far between round here, so it seems . How about I pray you have one as good as ours, Pudmog!

harrisey, praying that the right home comes up for you. We moved house less than 2 years ago and despaired that we'd ever find the right one. Now I realise it was just a question of waiting for the right one, the one we didn't know was the right one. It needs a lot doing to it, and I despair of the actual house sometimes, but in terms of location in the village and in terms of the village itself, it couldn't be much better!

PLEASE pray that my mother comes to terms with my vocation. If one of my brothers had said he was going to become a Catholic priest, she'd be shouting it from the rooftops. Although she loves me and although she says it isn't true, I'm just an embarrassment to her. Or rather not to her, but to the Catholic church where she lives, where the people still know and remember me, but where she can't even feel she can tell anyone about my being a reader in training [tears].
