My mum talks frequently of her mum who died 4 years ago and i overheard her in a very strange discussion recently regarding her and that my grandma had always been able to do strange things, she said "mum was the seventh daughter of the seventh daughter" that was why she could 'do things' i have no idea what that means, and my mum will say she isnt convinced by all that stuff anyway, so she is very vague, can anyone help?

Being the seventh child of a seventh child was once thought to make you a witch / a psychic / a healer etc etc.
Tosh if you ask me, but very folkloric.

I think she is referring to her being clairvoyant or psychic or having sixth sense. Don't pay too much attention to it if it makes feel that her mum was special.

Is that something that you have got any belief or interest in?

Some people believe that being the '7th child of a 7th child' bestows extra spiritual or magical powers on someone.

I don't believe it holds true, although spirtual gifts do have a tendency to run in families.

Not sure really, i do like to keep an open mind and fully respect everyones beliefs and interests, but i had a horrificly vivid dream a couple of weeks ago about my friends dp being in hospital and in alot of pain at one point i became her dp (very weird feeling) and when i woke up i had to call her just to see if all was ok and got her sister on the phone who had told me my friend was at the hospital with her dp who had just been rushed in - it is still freaking me out and i havent mentioned it to ANYONE until now, i guess im scared i might sound like a complete nutter, but apparently my grandma could do this all the time!.... its all abit strange to me......

Don't worry about this at all. It would be very strange if we lived in a world without any coinsidences, they happen all the time. Basically if you start to 'scan' for them you will find more and more but if you are not looking then they will pass you by unnoticed. Everyone has experience things like deja vou or stuff like knowing who is calling when the phone rings at one time or another, it doesn't make you psychic or mad.

The only time you need to worry is if it is interferring with your life. Are you very stressed at the momment?

Here's a little experiment for you, we call it the one eyed monster game. When you are out driving at night see how many cars you can spot with one head light not working, you wouldn't normally notice but if you actively start looking for them you will see them all the time. It proves that is you start looking for something you will find it, including links between events and occurances.

I think you could be a 'scenarios' person, what if this? what if that? And so on, and on - a proper worrier.

I take you are a sceptic were this subject is concerned chubbleigh?

I could be described as a sceptic, but don't see what is particulary sceptical about saying 'coinsidence happens' - fact.

I don't recall saying that was why I though you were a sceptic chubbleigh.

SaintG, the thing about coinsidence was basically all I said, that and don't let it worry you. Don't you want to play the one eyed monster game?

No, seems a bit daft to me. I spot single headlights all the time, because I keep an eye out for bikes.

Although it was the suggestion of that that made me think your were a sceptic.

you not your.

Its just a game, not an experiment.
