Persistant death!

Not been in this area of mumsnet before! - i was just hoping for some answers really - to 2 VERY persistant dreams im having and have been having for years! i have some dream books but i dont find any help or answers from them, firstly i have many many dreams sometimes every night for weeks that i die or im already dead and i most of the time im happy and it feels ok but then other times its sad as i miss the people i can see but they cant see me! secondly i have a dream just a persistant but more baffling - i find secret rooms in the house i live in, its not this house im living in now i dont recognise the houses - theres 2, the first one has a secret bedroom with a big four poster bed and its made up with blankets and the like but it has no windows and i find the whole room very dull and eerie, the second house is like a bungalow and is slighlty brighter but it has what seems like a second house more old fashioned below it like a basement sort of area (not in america so not really sure what a basement would look like anyway) i have been having these dreams for sooo long and no matter how hard i try i cannot get rid of them, sometimes the dreams feel so strong and vivid and persistent that as daft as it sounds i really feel like someone is trying to tell me something but i cant figure out what! anyone with any ideas at all please help! thanku

I'm no expert but have a vague interest in dream symbolism - I can't do dream analysis but know a little about the symbolism. As far as I remember, dreaming that you are dead is about inner changes, transformation and self-discovery - something is changing within your life. It shouldn't be a frightening dream because it's not really about death as it's symbolic of changes ahead - new beginnings and leaving the past behind. It can also mean that you are trying to put an end to old ways and habits.

It can also mean that you are involved in an unhealthy or difficult relationship that your subconscious is trying to get you out of, or it may mean that you have an obligation or responsibility that you're trying to get out of.

Thanks acnebride lol - i suppose it sounds a bit morbid doesnt it? and thanks www, your right it isnt ever frightening - a little depressing sometimes but never frightening, there both just sooooo persitent! cant help but feel maybe its time i started to figure out why.....

it sounds as through you are dreaming of changes that you wantto make but are afraid to make because of how other people will feel about you if you change, the secret bedroom could be how you feel about love / security etc. but altho possibkle it is well catered for thre is something missing. The other house the old fashioned part may symbolise that you have made a change but you have finished dealing with teh old you or life yet. sorry without knowing your dreams abit better I am struggling a bit but I would think that you have changed or gone through some cvhanges and not addressed past issues. It is may be that the dreams are not linked and the fist is about your desires to be brighter more open m,ore fun adn the second one a regret from teh past or it may that you have changed something and it has not been how you think it should be. Sorry this is very wide

thanku gm, i know i havent been very clear, im very new to all this dream stuff, i dont usually take too much notice of them, but as i said these dreams are different!! thanku for trying though i will give your suggestions some thought!.....

It is your unconscious self trying to tell yuo something. A hidden/secret room may be about an aspect of your personality that you are suppressing. Teh death part may be similar - other people can't see you - i.e. this side of your personality - becaue you are suppressing it.

You may not be aware what it is that is suppressed e.g. secret desire to be an opera singer; possibly your life situation makes that thing impossible at the moment e.g. stuck at home because of kids.
