Bright lights appearing all over the walls...

Hi.. need to run this past people who may have an opinion on this.. St.George et al.. :)

My sister, who like me, has been busily reading about 'all things spiritual' in the past few year and idenitfies with much that she has read, had an interesting experience on Sunday. She was in the living room at our mum's where she is currently staying (mum lives in an approx. five hundred year old cottage) and over the space of half an hour she kept seeing bright lights appearing on the walls, about the size of a 50p piece and VERY bright, like having full beam headlights in you face, but not uncomfortable to look at. Each light lasted for about 30 seconds and then went. Oddly, they made her feel very joyful and anticipating in some way. She asked them what they were.. and if there was 'someone', to make it clear to her 'what and who'.. and each time she asked she saw more. Eventually, it stopped though.

She says she has actually seen them, the odd one or two, before (also in mum's house) in the last few months but not for a prolonged period and not so many. She was not at all afraid.

Does anyone have any idea what these may be? My sister has not any actual psychic or obviously-spiritual experiences before. It was day light, but the curtains were shut and the room was dim.

Maybe they were Orbs? You get them sometimes on photographs when there is a spirit around.

Personally still very much in doubt over Orbs - most have been disproved as dust motes, modern cameras just pick them up easier.

As to the lights SJ you know me, I like to disprove the logical answers first. Even though the curtains were shut it is still possible that they were flashes of reflected light.

For example, I sometimes get something similiar on a nightime when a car goes past with lights on highbeam. My curtains are closed but they get through the tiny gap in the middle and bounce off mirrors and the like.

Having said all that, if your sister is positive that the lights were 'responsive' then they might well be spiritual in origin. Her best bet would be to learn some basic meditation techniques so that she can learn how to get herself in the right frame of mind for accepting such attempts at communication. If she isn't upset by them then it is a good sign. Maybe she should take it further and try to figure out who it might be.

Hmm I hadn't considered orbs from her description. I don't think they looked like balls of light.. just 'lights'.. very bright and intense.. and she had the feeling they were beings or a being of some kind. And she isn't usually given to these type of thoughts despite her interest in spiritual matters. Headlight reflections would be moving wouldn't there? These were still while each one was visible.

Headlights was just an example. You can get the strangest reflections from things as simple as the face of a watch.

I must admit they do sound like something more. Sounds like your sister needs to learn how to 'tune in' a little more so that she can investigate.

Yes she needs to pop over to MF doesn't she.. but it all seems so 'formal' over there now.. I feel sort of unwelcome (too strong a word perhaps) because I have never had the time to do any of the classes

No, mum doesn't use it anymore - and she was a Host!

Certain members started getting very funny about newcomers and I find the site owner very domineering. She doesn't like anyone who argues with her. Papillon was banned - I think I was for awhile too just for defending her.

is there anything glass in the room the sunlight might be catching it and bouncing onto the wall.. happened in my house the other day and thought of this thread. The light travelled all the way down the hall and off a crystal further down the hall.

Just a thought, is she thinking of getting pregnant? Spirit babies popped into my mind.
