Mumsnet Greenbelters?

Sign in here if you'll be at Greenbelt 2013 - if there are enough of us we could see if there's an opportunity for a meet-up at the tiny tea tent. Or if not we can just share our pre-GB buzz of excitement while we wait...

Can't wait for the daily diary online download to be available (think it's from next Monday?)

Haven't been for 6 years and I'm not in charge of the dc this time. Should be good!

Wow - envious of you there harriet I don't suppose I'll have a DC-free-GB for several years yet.

I've been suspecting that GB has been getting gradually very slightly more (if you'll forgive the term) happy-clappy in style over recent years, but changing only quite a small bit each year so it's difficult to be sure it's really changing, my memories are unreliable. I wonder whether you'll notice a big difference after 6 years away?

I'm on the extremely liberal falling-off-the-edge persuasion so I'm hoping I'll find a corner where I fit Smile.

My dc's father has had about 3 weeks of proper holiday on his own over the past couple of years and we're trying to make things a bit more equal by me having a solitary GB. He'll be there at some point with the dc but not staying with me. I haven't sorted out accommodation yet - which may be a borrowed tent - but I'm beginning to get very excited!

Probably giving it a miss this year although friends are camping and I may crack at the last minute and go.

I was hoping to lead a workshop this year but there has been a big change in how workshops and worship is organised which may or may not be obvious to those attending.

we will (but not camping!)

We haven't camped for a few years (avoided it with small DC) and I can no longer remember what GB camping is like. We've done a couple of non-GB camping trips over the summer so now we know we are able to do it (so long as it doesn't rain). However, at all the holiday campsites we've used they have some kind of system for hiring/refreezing or buying ready-frozen freezer blocks to keep your ice-box cold. Last time I camped for GB was pre-DC and I had no need of ice boxes. Does anyone know if there is any access to cold freezer blocks at GB? Or if not, what do you do about keeping milk for breakfast?

I'm not sure but the G store might have some sort of freezer block hire going on? Will there be a mumsnet meet up at GB at all?

UHT milk, of course!

Thanks Mrs I will ask them when I arrive I guess.

As for a meetup - well, we seem to have 5 on this thread who are coming to GB. I'd give it a go if we had a few more, but given that whatever time we pick will have a clash with something, I'm not sure that's enough to make a meetup at all likely to happen - any time we chose would probably only end up being feasible for 2 of the 5, and there's a good chance that something would happen to prevent 1 of those 2 actually making it in the end. Or am I being pessimistic?

You can buy milk from a newsagenty stall on site (or you could last year which is only time I've been). There is also a milkshake and smoothie stall who wd probably sell you a plain milk if you asked
