Alpha course? Anyone done one?

Hi, I'm considering doing an alpha course in the parish I grew up in, and I'm wondering if anyone could tell me what it is like? Religion was never part of my upbringing but I've felt a pull for many years now... Around 6 or 7 probably... Sometimes that pull is stronger than others, but its there nonetheless. This past year I have tried to turn away from it and reject it but its still here. Is an alpha course a good place to start?
The church I was married in, in the parish I grew up in, has an all ages service this morning that I may go to if I can get up to my mums house in time.

Alpha is really interesting. Well made DVDs and hopefully chance to discuss openly and ask questions afterwards if it is well run.

I did it about 15 years ago and loved it. I also helped on about two courses.

It is fun, interesting and usually accommpanied by some food!

God for it and let us know how you get on.

All the best.

I've helped on a few. They are usually really open and interesting and give plenty of opportunity for discussion and questions without telling you what you have to believe iyswim. I'd go for it - hope you enjoy it and find it valuable for you. Good for making friends too :)

Did it about 8 years ago - loved it and was gutted when it was over. Then helped out on one a few years later.
