I am godmother to the son of my oldest friend, even though she knew when she asked me that I do not have a religious belief (though a thoroughly C of E upbringing). Anyway, the upshot is that I've never had anything to do with confirmations before, his is taking place this Sunday and we are invited to attend. I was planning to give a (heathen) gift of money in a savings account - is it also appropriate to give a card, and if so, what do you say? Not congratulations I presume...

The confirmation usually involves the god parents. It is a confirmation of the baptismal promise, except he is making the promise rather than his parents making it for him. The godparents usually sponser in the same way..
I would think a well done card would be fine. or something like that...??
Enjoy your day???

You can buy confirmation cards.

Your godson will appreciate the money now and the card later in life when he looks back in his memory box you could always get the memory box for him (or make one!) to start him off . Confirmation is a big deal as its the childs first step alone into decision making for his faith. My son makes his confirmation in June a very grown up day Hope this helps enjoy
