FLEAS!

I cat sat for my brother a few weeks ago.

Now my house is infested with fleas :(

The cats have now gone, they've been out of my house 2 weeks now. First realised we had a flea problem about 3 days ago.

I've washed all bedding at 60degrees.
I've vacuumed all carpets and mattresses.
The duvets are all being washed (am using spares on the beds)
I've vacuumed carpets daily.
whenever I walk across the dcs bedroom carpets I come out covered in fleas on my feet. I get more every morning, not less. But am finding them in other rooms too.
my poor dc3 is absolutely covered in inflammed bites. On her legs, torso, arms and now her face :(
I've ordered 2 cans of indorex.
I'm about to go to the pet shop and get a flea collar to put in my vacuum bag so I don't have to throw it away daily.
am going to get a flea bomb or spray or something to use until Indorex arrives.

is there anything else I should be doing?
How long before I get my sanity back?

Indorexx is hugely effective and until it arrives nothin lose is going to be really effective.

I hope it works.

I have laundry coming out of my ears.

I did find some flea powder for the carpet today which I've put down (before your reply). Even if it knocks back the adult population for a couple of days I'll be happy.

My indorex has been dispatched I hope it arrives tomorrow. .

Totally agree with Lonecat. Flea powder/bombs may help suppress the adult population but don't spend a lot if you've got Indorex coming, that'll sort them out :)

I thought my bedroom was relatively clear.

but I am laying in bed and just caught one crawling all over me :(

Will the Indorex really work? How long will it take?

Indorex is great because it zaps the adult fleas immediately but it also lasts for 12 months so any more that hatch will also be zapped. I found any moving critter in the house was felled too so we had dead spiders, beetles etc all over the place.

We had a pretty heavy infestation a couple of years ago, I hoovered, threw away the hoover bag, then sprayed with Indorex (get into all the corners, under furniture, under rugs etc) then hoovered again 2 weeks later and we cleared it. It was really hard work though.

Yep, indorex is amazing. Don't bother with anything else.
I had an entertaining evening once...dd was in the bath and there were fleas hatching out from somewhere and appearing on the bathroom floor, when the air warmed. I sat killing them one by one. Next day I'd sprayed with the indorex in the morning. At bath time again, they started hatching, only this time I sat and watched them die really quickly.

I'm at the end of my tether. My kids are infested with headlice.
I have an essay due in tomorrow.

I have to take DD for a police video statement on Sunday.

I don't have time for this :(

I have removed ALL removable fabric items from the house to the garage (which is where my washing machine is). My machine and tumble dryer are running constantly.

I'm vacuuming every room twice a day. Bedrooms 3 times. I'm doing my nut.

indorex can't arrive fast enough :(

EdwinasRevenge take heart, the Indorex will 100% do the job. You will have complete knockdown in a very short time. Make sure you get everywhere - all nooks and crannies. Honestly it's like a miracle! Hope things get a bit less stressful soon.

Edwina, I was where you are now on Saturday, sprayed indorex, cats advocated, everything steam cleaned, or boil washed.
Can I just say, if you have, or can borrow a steam cleaner, do so, it really helps with textiles that can't be washed, also, a 60 degree wash is not hot enough, you need 90 degrees to kill the fleas, otherwise all you get isclean fleas!
The iIndorex works though.
