Just wanted to say my cat is due her kittens this weekend and I'm beyond excited,! Just wondering whether to keep her in with litter tray at end of the week or will that distress her as she loves being outside

I've known cats have kittens in sheds, even though they were housecats. I would keep her in. She will of course choose to have them in very odd place, like under a bed, in a cupboard, behind something immovable or on your bed! That is quite normal because she wants to hide them from predators.

I would also make sure you have a litter tray.nice cosy covered box with airholes and small point of access, set up so she can stay close to kittens at the beginning, and not carry them off and hide them somewhere else. This is sometimes what happens if children come and coo over them too much.

Thanks for reply, have got box /maternity ward all sorted for her, will keep one and already have good homes sorted for rest, have done this before about ten twelve years ago with previous cat so have some experience. My poor dog won't know what's hit him with mad kittens running around!
