Animal Friends Pet Insurance

Just looking to get cover for my labrador...

I've had a quote with animal Friends and although a little pricier, they offer far better cover for lifetime illnesses. The quote I had covered unlimited costs for a lifetime illness, whereas other companies seem to have a limit of £4000.

Are they any good or will I struggle to get them to pay out?

Awful. Think they're underwritten by equine and livestock (or e and l as they sometimes use ). Hard to get to pay out and consequently some vets won't allow owners covered by them to make direct claims, ie you have to pay upfront and claim back from your insurer rather than the vet claiming direct. There are plenty of reliable companies out there. But check that the 'budget' premiums provide the cover you need-commonly the cheaper options only cover conditions for 12 months and not for the life of your pet. Good luck!
