Awwww bless - so sweet! We had a guinea pig called Brownie. Her nicknames were 'BrownBrown' and 'Queen of Spinach' (spinach was her favourite food). 'Pussolene she's our queen' did make me smile. Smile

Our current guinea pig Biscuit is otherwise known as 'Biccy Boy' and is known by our shopping delivery drivers (he always 'greets' them and they always ask after him). Thing is with nicknames, sometimes you get so used to them you can't remember how they came about/the origins (I know I can't always remember them).

Aww brown brown is nice.

I call my kids silly names too (embarrassed to admit) and they don't like it when i slip up and use them in public (DS2 is known as wheel-o)

Oops!

I like your user name btw!

Ha ha, poor children (joke) Smile W

I have caught myself starting to call my DH by my pet name for him in public before. No need to be embarrassed, I think lots of people have nicknames for family members (some more embarrassing than others lol).

Thanks for your compliment on my user name - I got it from one of the hilarious threads on MN Classics as I couldn't think of anything else.

I think my neighbours probably think I'm a bit odd because amongst other things I talk to my dog like he can understand. Things like when I let him out for a wee I say 'go and have a wee then' and stuff like that. The thing is he can understand me because it's just another command that he's picked up over the years and associated with the action. So when I say 'go and have a wee then' he does exactly that.

My kitten's very fluffy so his nickname is PomPom. This has various forms: pomme frite, Pom de terre, pomegranate. You get the idea. The other boy is bo, boffboff or pouskydousky. None of these even resemble their real names. Grin
I Also have 'our songs' for my cats.
I need to get out more...

Cookie wookie cuddle bum - when having secret cuddles with DD rather lovely hamster Blush

Though weirdly I don't do that with either of our cats, they get normal speak - though I have caught DH rubbing his nose on the belly of his favourite of our 2 cats - who idolises DH Hmm saying "pushie smooshie loves Daddy" - never that soppy with me or DD - though he might get a slap if he tried Grin
