DD has been bitten by her bearded dragon. He drew blood - was hanging off her finger for a short while. It bled for ages.

She immediately put her finger under the cold tap for about 5 minutes and I got her a small bowl of Dettol in which she soaked her finger for another 5-10 minutes. Then I wrapped her finger in Dettol soaked tissue, stuck in place by a plaster.

Some hours later though, it's still throbbing a bit and stinging.

Is the anything else I should do? DD is 13 and up to date with all jabs, but I can't remember whether she's had a tetanus, and have no idea whether that's relevant for a beardie anyway.

Thanks.

I'm an animal technician and I've been bitten by a variety of animals including a beardie, you did all the right things by cleaning and washing it, so if she's got all her jabs then just keep an eye on it like any other injury and keep it clean.

Thank you!

It seems to behaving like any other wound now. Relieved we don't have to worry about more jabs or anything.
