Should we just test things on less cute animals?
You do realise that to use any animal in research you have to justify it and it is subject to rigorous review to ensure it's carried out as humanely as possible.
Researchers also have to justify exactly why they can not use a non living animal model instead such as cell lines. So if the experiments are carried out it is because they are necessary and potentially beneficial to human health.
But, ahhh, cute kittens.

I see the petition but I don't see the actual evidence.

It could be a false claim.

Ok! I've read up on it. It happened in 2012. It was a test to discover a cure for lazy eye in children and thirty one kittens were used and then put to sleep afterwards.

I'm not keen on halting the progression of medicine and surgery.

If research is banned in the UK it will just be done in China instead where there are no regulations

Yes parietal, they tried that with cosmetic testing but for to be sold in Europe they cannot be tested on animals in china either.
