To ask for all your help?

My gorgeous girl Indy was diagnosed with Lymphoma after a large tumour was found on her spleen. We received the dreaded phone call saying she may not make it after the splenectomy due to massive blood loss. Thanks to a blood transfusion from the vets own brave doggy she pulled through.

Four weeks on & she has just had her 3rd chemo session & is doing well, lymph glands are down & she is bouncing around like tigger. There is no cure but she could have 6 - 18 months to enjoy life. We only had a shirt time to decide if we wanted to give her chemo or let her go within a few weeks. It was so hard to decide what was best but as dogs don't react as badly as us humans we scraped the money together & she has fought this nasty disease with no side effects to date.

We have created a bucket list for her doing all the things she loves, a visit to the beach, a walk through the woodlands at a certain National Trust property, a new squeaky toy every week (she goes through them in hours)

Today I entered her in the contest for Pets That Make A Home, from Taylor Wimpey. The prize money would be such a help as chemo is very expensive if any of you would be able to vote for Indy she would really appreciate it. A

Just to let you know, my dog went through the same treatment and lived an extra year. He's gone now but I don't regret the treatment x

Thanks Tantric, it wasn't a decision we took lightly. She is happy & full of life at the moment & as long as she is we plan to continue treatment. If she starts to suffer we will have no choice but to let her go. Glad you got the extra time with your boy, every day really is a blessing.

Thank you ladies, we really appreciate it. She has been so good throughout her treatment, her vet now cooks her chicken breasts at home to feed her after chemo (she has to stay in for the day) & has admitted Indy breaks her heart.

Thank you all I'm overwhelmed by the support, I have started a thread in The Doghouse too.

Fingers crossed Indy will win & go on to enjoy all the things she loves to do. Thankfully she is perky & oblivious to all that is going on unless it's the weekly trip to our wonderful vet x

IM Sorry to hear about Indys illness, However i admire you for making the most of the time you have with her by making up a bucket list what a great idea :) i can only hope that you have many more happy days and hope her life expectancy way surpasses your (and hers) expectations.

I cant have a dog where i live sadly. If i owned a dog I would contact you and donate blood if that was to help(?) . I hope you get all the votes you need to win i only wish for you the time could last forever with her.
