I'd say National Singles' Day myself [as here owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/grammar/g_apost.html]]

Singles' for me too.

I love Nick's expressions of disgust.

But more importantly - WTF are these people thinking of 'enviro-cards'

And also why would you spend two quid on a card to congratulate someone on being single when you could just use it to buy chocolate for them which they'd actually enjoy.

Who do you reckon is going to win? I'm going for the Singles' cards

X many thousand bags thrown away each year and yet they couldn't find one to put over that silly man (the team leader's) head.

How could any of those thick shits even BEGIN to imagine it might be Single's? I mean, FFS?! DO they know what an apostrophe is FOR?

This idiocy was repeated on "You're Fired!" Even the boss of Clinton Cards seemed to agree. But then, I don't hold out much hope for the boss of a company who once had a "Sorry Your Leaving" section.

There is a case for no apostrophe if it is being used adjectivally. Like Jesus Sandals. Otherwise - more than one single, therefore Singles' Day. No question.

God Raef is beyond attractive - he's epically gorgeous!!

Thats all I have to contribute

Perhaps one of them should have done a 'Sorry you've been fired' card.

I liked the concept of an anti-Valentines thing but I think it should have been more along the lines of "Thank god you're single having gotten rid of your useless partner".

omg, i find it very strange to really dislike someone to the extend i want to do them physical damage, but that bloody Jenny Grrrrr

I thought it was shocking the way they ganged up on Sara at the end - there are some truly nasty contestants this year.

Furball · 01/05/2008 09:11

yes truely horrible - whats it got to with them anyway? raef (sp?) was/is a real gentleman in sticking up for her. Imagine being in her shoes having to live with that bunch of blood thirsty lions.

If they think sara is so weak they should be glad she's still there so she gets fired instead of them next week. - Think I've watched to much 'the weakest link'

lilyloo · 01/05/2008 09:12

think that Raef jumping to her aid though might be a glimpse of him being up there in the final !

QueenMeabhOfConnaught · 01/05/2008 09:13

Yes Raef tried to defend Sara and Lucinda just looked like she couldn't believe what was happening. Real "playground bullying".

Report
lilyloo · 01/05/2008 10:28

although i disagree with what they did though in previous series the ones who didn't contribute much or offend got further and didn't deserve too but this wasn't the way to highlight that.
Hope Alan Sugar got to see that as he was scathing of the 'bullying' in the boardroom and that was much worse ans as Raef said it's his decision.

There are only two of the batch left who I'd like to have as a manager - Raef and Lucinda. Either of those could get away with coming to someone with a smile on a Friday afternoon and asking them to do something which involved a couple of hours' extra work. And you'd feel you were letting them down if you said no. Any of the others would get right up my nose.
