Do fellow pedants write dates with the rd, st, and th on the end of the number part ie 21st February 2008, or is it ok to do away with the suffix to make the text uncluttered?

I only ask as my boss objects to my modern way of writing the date and likes it done the old-fashioned way .

The correct way (according to RSA) is:

21 February 2008
