my instinct was with an e too

& I actually corrected it to that in a Word doc earlier, but then my correction got a red underlining (in UK English) when the e-less one didn't, & when I went a-googling (hey-ho) it appeared that the official correct spelling is e-less???

but I just re-googled, specifying UK pages only, & all the links that came up were different; & they all seem to refer just to chocolate, not the adjective,
except for the sainted Delia, who said chocolatey...

hmm

anyway I let it go through as chocolaty
