It has been a while since I was a child having birthday parties and I'm new to having my own children so please excuse the stupid question: What order do you do things in for a standard at home birthday party (-games, food, cake, etc.)?
Thanks!

last bday for 3 yrold as follows:

welcome, receive gifts (if any), thankyou and put aside
directed to general play
all arrived
made party crowns
played pass the parcel
food
birthday cake
party bag
goodbye

pressie opening (with grandparents and best friend)

clear up!

feet up

wine.

decided not to do pressie opening as part of party but have been to others that have. Guess it depends on number of guests.
