Party bag help!

It is DD's 3rd birthday party in just under 3 weeks, and I have stupidly invited her whole nursery class, plus friends children/siblings etc, so we could be looking at around 50 children
We've got everything else sorted, I'm just stressing about party bags, as they can be so expensive! Can spend a maximum of about £30 on them all really Sad The cheapest idea I can think of is cellophane cones filled with sweets, but then how many sweets do I need?!? Am thinking flying saucers are big and will take up lots of space in them?
Would be really grateful for any advice if anyone else has tried this (or another amazingly cheap idea that I've not thought of!)

Cellophane bag with balloon and bubbles tied with curly ribbon and a note attached to the ribbon that says thanks for coming to x's birthday party

No party bag - she's 3! Bit of birthday cake would be nice.

(We put a mini haribo bag and a mini choc buttons bag in a bag with some cake.)

When they're so young you can get away with not giving much! I would go for bubbles and a piece of cake - you can get really cheap bulk buys of bubbles (plus they last forever so you can save any excess for stockings/next year's party).

bubbles are great and less is more. 3 year olds do not need party bags.

Thank you all Smile
We can't not do party bags, she has an older brother, so know a lot of older children as our friends with children are the ones I met when he was younger, IYSWIM. Also, she is one of the younger children in her nursery class, so I would say that at least 75% of the children will be older than her and would definitely notice the lack of party bags!
We've been to a lot of parties and can say that this would definitely be the first without party bags if we didn't do them and I'm not sure that I want to be the first tbh, they are definitely expected round here, rightly or wrongly!
I do like the idea of bubbles, but if I go down the cellophane cone route, I'm not sure I'd want to mix bubbles and sweets in case the bubbles leaked Confused

Go to poundland for loads of party bag stuff.

Marshmallows take up plenty of room.

I generally do small colours paper bags with haribo, mini chocolate bar, balloon, marshmallows and a piece of cake

a balloon, something for them to take away

My children are always delighted with sweets! But if they've already had some at the party then it's nice to have something else in the party bags.
On eBay you can get 24 punch balls for £5. I think that these would be fun for all the different ages. Temporary tattoos are always popular and cheap on eBay too. Then pound shop for some Swizzels lollies and some Haribo packets.
A punchball, 2 tattoos, a lolly and a mini bag of Haribo would come to under 50p per party bag.

Thank you Smile
I do normally do 'standard' party bags with bubbles, balloon, sweets and tat, but they always work out quite expensive (about £1 a bag) that's why I was looking for cheaper ideas. Maybe I just need to put less tat in, I am known for my generous party bags Blush

How about splitting a collection of books from the book people and adding a pot of bubbles and cake? The parents will thank you for not filling their homez with plastic tat.

Thank you, I looked into books, but it worked out quite expensive for so many children. I've decided to go with sweet cones, ordered the bits this morning Smile Thank you all for your suggestions Thanks

Cake bag of haribo balloon cheap toy. Perhaps a chewy wrapped sweet.

Cheap toy could be bubbles as they're v.cheap. Also amazon great for cheapy things. Last year I got mini maracas, finger monsters, stretchy men, bugs you throw at window and 'crawl' down, mini slinkies, monster sticker sheets. Ds (3 then) loved them all. They were cheap. Include 1 -2 rather than loads. Do you not have any tat left over from previous years? Grin

Girls: bracelets, hair clip, fairy/butterfly stickers . Ds loves a party bag. All 3yo birthdays had them last year.

Also bouncy balls on amazon - cheap & popular.

Thanks Zen, I decided to go with cellophane cones with sweets in in the end, got all the bits for about £25 Smile
I have got left over tat from DS's birthday, but not enough for 50 party bags and it is mostly Christmas themed! Perhaps not good for a party in August Grin
