Baby shower - card needed?

Going to a baby shower at the weekend, I've bought a gift (which I presume should be wrapped up?). Do I need a card also? I will be sending a card when the baby is born.

I've never been to a baby shower, but if I did I think a card would be appropriate as well as a gift.

Thanks! It's just that I haven't come across any baby shower cards, only 'congrats on your new baby' cards, and the baby hasn't arrived yet!
