Ideas for decorating tables at surprise 150th ( 75 x 2 people0

I'm looking for ideas on how to decorate the tables at a surprise 150th we're organising for my parents. They're both 75 this year so its a combined party. The invites are out - it's in a hotel and about 100 people are coming including kids.

I suddenly thought last night we should do something with the tables otherwise it it will be just plain. I was going to get helium 1 5 0 balloons but what else can I do?

I looked at the party websites but couldn't see anything beyond glittery confetti. I wondered whether we just get a florist to do some table thing?

any ideas? do I need anything? You can tell this is not my thing.

we had balloon table decorations at our 40th - think there were 4 balloons in each bunch and were interspersed throughout the room (i.e. no on every table)

Oh that's an idea -kids will love balloons and can give them away at end.

Get onto pinterest and search table centre pieces.

I love fun creating centrepieces - mine are usually a bit child focused.

On the balloon theme i'm trying to step away from helium use and balloon sticks are available in bulk for pence off ebay and can work well when cut to different lengths with different sized balloons you can have a good effect or do a balloon bunch.

Do you like hot air balloons? As a fun theme you could get/ make little square baskets/ boxes, then fix a balloon with a stick to the centre using salt dough. You could tape ribbons down from the balloon to the basket to represent the ropes. Each basket could then be filled with different things. You could alternate with flowers, lollypops and then chocolates.

You could stick 75 stickers to the balloons or card cutouts on the tops of them.

For my wedding I brought lots of orchids for a few pounds each then wrapped the pots in voile tied with a big ribbon. Very cheap and very effective plus years later I still have a house full of orchids that have just kept flowering.

For the children I did party bags on the table with colouring pens and books, little tubes of bubbles, mini smarties, a toy car etc. rather than focusing the table around them.

I went on pinterest and realised i like very simple things. i think we are going to cover jam jars in tinfoil, stick a ribbon round and stick in some white daisy like flower and some other flowers in 1 colour.

Mind you the orchard idea would works as well and we could tinfoil the pot.

we were going to do a kids table and the balloon idea is guid cos somewhere i've got balloon sticks. I've eve got glow in the dark balloons somewhere which i've just remembered - great idea misformum
