can anyone help?! My dd will be 6 in a few weeks time and she will be having all of her friends from school coming to her party plus rellies. It means a pretty equal split of boys and girls (poss 20-30 kids). My dd is VERY girlie, need ideas on everything!!!!

Hi furball, no at a village hall. I am usually quite good at party organising but just seem to have hit a wall!! How many years do we do this for?? I just don't know how to accomodate the boy/girl theme thing!

I went to a 5-yr-old's birthday party at home and parents had gone to all kinds of trouble to devise games and fun

kids just wanted to watch Barbie: The Magic of Pegasus

Hunt the spider. I used the inside of old cornflake packs etc about 1/2 A5 size with a picture of a spider on. hide them all round the room (blutak comes in handy for sticking on walls, chairs etc) Everyone must find a spider and run back to you for a pack of sweets.

Disco Dancing competition

you could even have a craft table in the corner where the children could make something or decorate a picture with various stuff from elc or woolies.

cold pizza went down well at ds's party last week. Sandwiches hardly touched. Also sausages on sticks and crisps disappeared well.

Hi
Just back yesterday from a girlie party (6ys)..great day.
It was a t-shirt painting party. Everyone got a white t-shirt which was already laid out on floor with sticker for their name attached. Floor was covered in sheets to stop mess and everyone sat in a circle with all 't-shirt' painting stuff in the middle. The decorated t-shirts then went up to dry on hangers and kids took them home instead of party bags with cake. T shirts bought at matalan in pack about 1.00 each. Party then continued with party tea and games, mini disco and face painting. Great fun!!

I did Knights and princesses one year and the girls all got to wear their fancy dresses. Most boys own a knights costume of some sort. We had a medieval theme and they got their picture taken sitting in a throne. Had plastic wine goblets for juice and played pin the fire on the dragon and pass the kings gold (drawstring bag filled with chocolate money). Had a dragon pinata and told the story "The kiss that missed" afterwards to calm them all down. try this site for help and ideas. It's got hundreds!!
