Hi, we will soon be sending out invitations to my son's 4th birthday party. We will be inviting a mixture of my son's friends from nursery and our own friends' kids. Are we expected to invite siblings too? We will do for our own friends' kids, but I'm not sure what to do with the others who we don't know as well. Thanks ...

No. It really changes the dynamic if you get a load of 6/7 year olds showing up. Just invite your sons friend.

I think it depends on the children's age and your area.

If it's a drop and go party then no siblings is fine, if you want parents to stay and supervise then I think it's ideal if possible to include siblings.

I live in quite a rural area, there aren't many kids about so parties tend to include siblings, to make up numbers as much as anything. But the kids are used to playing in mixed age groups. I imagine it's different if you live in an area with more kids around.
