help needed with dd's princess party - what to get for the knights?

DD's party (she'll be 5) is Princesses and knights as there will be at least some boys there.
I am biting the bullet and doing a big party games thing for the first time ever (long and dull story as to why).
So lots of games with actual prizes for winners - but what to get for the boys on a knight theme? Also party bags? Have got fluffy-ended pens/pretty princess purses/priness bracelets for the girls. What do boys get (in the range 50p to £1.50) that is at all princely? Anyone got any great ideas before I just go off theme and buy them all bouncy balls or stretchy lizards???

Hi Clary, I've got 2 boys and I'm, racking my brains to think here..........

maybe check out the pound stuff at the sales counters in the Early Learning centre, my ds2 got a dress up outfit from them I'm sure they do more knights stuff too.

I would suggest a sword and shield set from somewhere like in-store or poundland at about £1 but I know giving away a sword to a wee boy can be very unwise and upset the parents too.

Maybe an arts and crafts shop would have make your own crowns? or again the ELC.

will think of some more later!

Hi Clary
This is why I have persuaded DD that an UNDER THE SEA theme is a good idea. I don't think the boys will be too bothered if the party bag hasn't got a knight in there.
Nothing suitable at Baker Ross/ Hawkins Bazzar?

Hmmmm, kNights, I was going to suggest a sword or sheild but agree, some parents might not be impressed. Although my ds once went to a party and got a sword and was so chuffed.

Maybe a cheap plastic set of soldiers on horses?

What about a dragon? (knights kill dragons, right?)

Gingerbear a dragon is a really good idea! How hard can that be to find in the pound shop?
I agree of course that the boys won't mind at all, it's only me that's bothered really lol.
Thanks for thoughts. Must get the troops dressed now. will search Baker Ross later.

party pieces do party crowns that you can decorate as party of party - I've got some spare from dd1 party - would be happy to send one for you to use as a template.

We used \link{http://www.partypieces.co.uk/PartyPieces/category/Party%20Boxes_Party%20Boxes/1/\These castle} food boxes (can also work as party bags) for DD's party.

Gold coloured chocolate coins could do for the chocolate/sweet aspect.

What about related stickers and sticker books?

Ladies just to update as you had such good ideas.
Found knight stickers and dragon tattoos in Woolies and Playmobil special knights for party game prizes.
Then found a tube of knights (plus a dragon) for £6 for the party bags from an excellent site, \link{http://www.tickseed.co.uk\tickseed} which also has Groovy Girl dolls for £5.50 what a bargain!
Thanks for all yr thoughts, much appreciated as ever.
