How many kids do you invite and how many actually turn up?

Hi there,

I need some help as I'm organising my DD birthday party. She's 4 and it's the first time I'm inviting some of her friends. I was wondering: how many kids do you invite and how many kids turn up? If I want to have a 10 kids, how many shall I invite? and how do you send reminders?

Thank you so much!

Carol

I say invite about 14. Could you cope with 15 including your own?

Only send out as many invites as you can manage.
We usually end up with every child invited coming.
If you send them out early enough and you get some no responses, you could always send out a second wave.

Interesting, I'd say 33-45% of invited don't come, typically. I think we had 100% turnout for DS2's 6th birthday, though (he's my child with no friends, social & behaviour problems. Confused).

I depends what kind of party you're having.

If it's whole class party, the attendance rate will be lower than if you just ask DD's special friends.

I think if you ask 10 and it's at a reasonably convenient time with a reasonable amount of notice, you'll probably get 8-9.
