With 3 out of my 4 dcs today in a busy Carluccio's cafe near home. Wave hello to school acquaintance and her dd across the room. Later take ds3 (3.7) to the loo, just as acquaintance enters next cubicle with her little one.

Ds does his wee. My turn next. Cue in his foghorn voice "Why is there a little rope hanging out of your bottom mummy ?"

OMG ......PMSL at that one. My 3 year old has asked 'why am I putting that up my bottom' before now (we don't do shut doors in our house!).

Hana I must admit I pretended not to hear and quickly turned on the tap and the hand drier to drown out his dulcet tones. Later we were in a bookshop loo (yes one of those days) and he again piped up "But why won't you tell me about that rope on your bottom ?"

At least nobody I knew was listening...

I was rushing in the door after shopping and needed the loo v badly, DD1 followed me in she said "Mummy why is there a ladybird up your bum" then she told DP later that Mummy had a ladybord up her bum. Tampon ladybird don't get the connection.

So glad to find I'm not the only one who has been observed.

DD2 (just turned 2) barged into the loo today, watched intently, then solemnly observed "Mummy put it away".

Yes, quite.

This is not the sort of thing they tell you about at antenatal classes.
