Oh b*gger I've just commited the ultimate parenting sin - going back on a punishment........

told DS2 that if he didn't hurry up and finish his lunch that he wouldn't be allowed to play on the PS2 with DS1 (DS1 was also given the same threat but finished well inside the "allotted" time fram - they had already been sat at the table for over 1/2hr when this started).

Anyhow, let DS1 get on and start playing - and finally (20 minutes later) DS2 finished his.......and I've just relented (without any pressure from him) and let him play anyhow...

I'm doomed aren't I???

not really - but I'm afraid I do consider 1hr to eat one sandwich, 2 pieces of apple, 2 slices of cucumber, a little bit of cheese and a slice of lunch tongue a little excessive.....especially from children that can polish an entire plate of cooked dinner in a 1/4 of the time

yeah i know, mine do that at times, i oftenm tell them to slow down.

but it has all been eaten, so i think you can let yourself off with a small punishment of eating some chcoclate

AG - he's always hungry - you can almost guarantee that in no less than 1/2hr he'll be asking for more food

He loves all of the things that he had on his plate - he was just being darn stubborn LOL.

• oh well - I guess I'll have to tear myself away from MN as punishment and start my own ironing then LOL......or DH will do it tomorrow - I've told him he doesn't have to - but I know that if I don't get most/all of it done today he'll launch into it tomorrow and won't stop until it's all finished........which I don't want

a) because it's his weekend - it's when he's supposed to have a break (he does help with houseowkr in the week)

b) most importantly - because I'll be left "holidng the baby" (quite literally LOL) - as adorable as DS3 is I do value the weekends when DH "takes over" the bulk of the childcare from me
