Oh sod it I'm off to go scream in a pillow and then do some sobbing!

Aargh! I actually woke up this morning in a normal mood with no 'black cloud hovering' feeling, got me and ds dressed and breakfasted, and found out I had the morning off so proceeded to hoover sweep and tidy and do laundry and all the jobs I can never face doing. Been feeling ever so productive until I came into the living room to find ds had got the jug of squash off the worktop, a beaker out of the cupboard, and tried to pour himself a drink - on my sofa!

He has tripled my work now. I have new family coming to see me this afternoon, I am doing an overnight for them tonight so need to sort whole house out, and my sofa smells like a lilt factory! He has emtied the whole jug on it I am fuming.

Ohh i KNOW how frustrating this is, but don't be angry with him, he was only trying to get himself a drink. he probably didn't want to bother you.

I know how frustrating and upsetting it is. But he's just a normal child and trying to be independent - don't be too hard on him, or yourself

You are right, he is a very sweet boy and usually would ask me so I think you are right he didn't want to bother me. I'm not mad at him, just mad at the situation IYSWIM. As soon as I came in the room he cried, and so did I!

I have stripped all the covers off which is a right pain and they are terrible to get back on, make you lose the will to live on a good day! So fed up!

Thanks baffy et al, sorry I disappeared, my pg friend called to see if I wanted a walk to the shops and I jumped at the chance.

The sun has come out so hopefully my sofa covers will dry in time, it's too big o cover up with any thing really.

Thank you all for your replies, what would I do without mn!

I do feel stupid for trying to force DD into feeding no sooner than every 2 hours in the first weeks (I know, I know...).

Still, I have to say that not co-sleeping and using cc get her to sleep through the night at 4 months were the best things we did. I have friends whose toddlers still don't sleep through the night, nor sleep at all unless they are in the bed with the kid, and their misery is just awful.
