How do you tell a 7 year old we wont be living with daddy anymore?please?

Ex has been arrested before,and is abusive...how do i tell his little boy that we wont be returning to the family home...ever..its sold.
He was born there and knows nothing else apart from living at grans for the last few months since we left.He thinks its cos the house is too small and we need a bigger one,im devastated for him...hes an anxious little chap and misses his his daddy terribly.

she says kids can pretty much cope with anything if you tell them the truth.

i agree with GordonR..i split with dh 4 mths ago and i have been totally honest with my dc, and they seem fine at the moment, no sadness or anything..

I know that,,re truth etc,its how to tell him,we parented together.its like if he took them from me.i feel so guilty even though i had no choice.
