having a very bad mummy day

went upstairs and started to try and clean. Went into the boys room only to find that the pile of toys and 'bits' that i ask ds1 to put away were shoved in a pile by the wardrobe and some were hung in a carrier bag on the end of the bed. He obviously wasn't bothered that dd1 passed lego into her nappy earlier and probably from him leaving bits laying around everywhere. So I started to try and put them away myself, only for something to suddenly snap inside me causing me to throw them all out onto the landing, along with anything else that was where it shouldn't be and screaming down the stairs to ds1 telling him i was going to put them all in tht ebin unless he got up here and put it all away properly He is now sat on the landing putting all the jigsaw pieces in one pile, playing cards in another etc. I told him that unless it was done by tea time they woulkd go in the bin I am an awful mummy and I can't cope. It's been a bad day. There you go.

Part of the course, I think. Don't beat yourself up about it - you're bound to be sensitive about it when you're worried about dd1...

Getting ds1 to do it himself - a good mummy thing to do
Perhaps the methodology needs a little work...but you said it yourself - having a bad day.
You do sound a bit like you are struggling though - NOT a bad mummy - just a bit overwhelmed at the moment?

I need more than my two hands to count how many times I've done something like that
It's a part of the stressful job of parenting.

Hope you feel better soon xxx

Best I join your club! I've just been into DD's bedroom, which she aparently tidied this morning, to find it looks like Beirut! I havenow put everything off the floor onto the bed and when she comes home from the park, she is going to be sorry! I often threaten the bin and have already told her today, that I refuse to do any of her washing and ironing unless she shows me the respect I deserve and put them away PROPERLY!
