Advice Please? Cot Bed Safety Rails

Hi,

Sorry if this isn't in the right discussion page. Can anyone give me advice on Cotbed Rails? Where can I get them? Do they exist? My daughter is craving a bed at the moment but my partner and I are worried about her falling out. We have another one on the way soon and, as she is craving a bed anyway, we decided to make the change. Only thing is, where do we get the safety rails?

Thanks for your time.

Dh made a short one for dd for the top part of her bed - from wood. That was after the first night and her falling out twice (second time just rolling across the floor and sound asleep).

I think BabieRUs and mothercare sell toddler rails. Jill

We've just put ds2 into a bed this weekend and haven't bothered with any form of rail. The cotbed is very low down and the carpet is nice and soft so I don't think he will damage himself if he falls, plus I figure that if he does it a lot we can just put something softer down on the floor until he learns not to do it. Older two children never fell at all. I would give it a try without the rails first as you may find she doesn't fall at all .

try on ebay Dreamer - there's usually loads listed. I've got a BabyDan Sleep 'n' Safe and a wooden Tomy one and both are excellent. Some aren't suitable for beds that have a raised lip to hold the mattress in so check this before you buy if it applies to you.

Thanks for all the advice.

They're all for Duvan beds. Oh well, will have to put soft things for her on the floor to roll on.

Tesco Direct have them. Catalogue number is 100-2647 for pink and 100-9914 for blue. Says they fit any junior bed - would they do?

Hi Piggy,

Thanks for your time replying. Alas they are the same as the ones we have seen. We put our daughter on it last night and she didn't fall off. Mind you we did put a massive duvet under the side of the bed, so she would just sink into that if she did roll off lol :D

Thanks again for your time and help.
