I have been a stay at home mom till now. My ds is will turn 12 months in sept 07. My husband and i really need some extra cash , plus i feel that im going crazy staying at home. Also at times i feel my ds is getting bored with the same enviornment and toys. But i feel so guilty about even considering going to work part time, cause he's way to young! I would work as a nursery teacher part time and take him to the same nursery i work in. Is he too young?,should i wait till he turns two?

my dd is 14 months now and she's been going to nursery 2 afternoons a week since she was 8 months old. she goes and plays with the other kids, they have big toys i don't have at home, like dolls houses, trucks, wendy houses, huge sandpit, water tables etc, and they do all the messy play i don't fancy at home, then she has tea there, then she gets picked up. at pick up time she's actually quite reluctant to leave as she has so much fun. she's there 1pm until 4.30pm.

My DD has been going almost full time since 6mths.
It gives her a chance to socialise and do all the messy play things which we don't tend to do at home.
I hated settling her in and recently a big factor in not moving her nursery after we moved house was not wanting to settle her (and me) again.
However, since we got over the settling in, we now have difficulty getting her out.

For me and my DS it was a good thing putting him in nursery. He is 13 months and has been in nursery for 4 weeks. He is in 3 days a week 8 till 5 (long days ) but he is doing so well there. He doesn't cry anymore when he gets dropped off, is happy to see the nursery staff, other children and toys and gets much more than he would from just me. He is has come on leaps and bounds in terms of confidence, development- started walking properly etc. The fact that you are going to be there too is brilliant. Whatever you decide good luck.hth xx

ds has been doing 4 afternoons a week since he was about 6mo.
Recently upped this to 5 afternoons due to DH's work commitments.
He LOVES it.
I miss him, but he doesn't miss me, or DH.
Went through maybe a week when he would cry when DH droppe dhim off, but girl sthere said he was fine within a couple of minutes and distracted easily by other children/the slide/noisy toys etc

Went back to work f/t when dd was 8 months.
Mon and Fri with inlaws, Tue-Thurs at nursery. She's been fine and happy with my choice of nursery.
