Why is it....................

that whenever I plan to do absolute nothing once I've got all 3 DS's settled down (ie around 8pm - depending on DS3's mood) they are as good as gold, older DS's go to bed nicely and DS3 settles quickly.

When I've got stuff I really want to get done before 9pm (my own personal 'cutoff' time for housework ) they are utterly exhausting???

"All" I want to do is wash down 4 cupboard doors, do a handful of ironing, finish tidying the bookcase (read "general dumping ground" ), dust the other one and at the very least sweep the kitchen floor (would like to mop but not sure I can be bothered LOL)......I don't know if I could really have got it all done in 45 minutes as it is, but now I'm shattered, but can't settle (despite DS's being asleep/in bed) as I haven't acheived what I set out to achieve.........

Because they KNOW

They have this inbuilt 6th sense that alerts them when we need to get stuff done.

oooo you know what scatty - your suggestion of opening the wine has just reminded me of what I "promised" myself if I got most of the jobs done today (or at least made a good start on some of them)........some of DH's Polish Vodka - apparently it's the "creme de la creme" (sp) of Vodka and I reckon a nice Vodka and Orange would go down nicely tonight............

FA has a sudden surge of energy and dashes off to see how many of the jobs she can get some in 30 minutes

it's still a PITA when kids are like that though

PMSL - ooo that went well........NOT...got downstairs, put the pushchair away (it was in the hall and it blocks easy access if left there)....went back to the lounge/diner to make a start on finishing the bookcase.......and DS3 was awake....I think I've just got him settled again but have done b*gger all......still MUST at least pile all the stuff back onto the bookcase to sort tomorrow though.
