no. i like to wear shoes that are comfortable - not too wide.

dd1 has a narrow foot. only certain brands are made that narrow and they cost a bit more.

why should she run around in shoes that don't fit her feet and are therefore uncomfortable?

yes of cousre it is all a big giant con. width fit = load of shite.

i thought frenchies had bee in chapeau avec ankle support, hence little boots for toddlers.

no no cod they ahve to be TRAINED to tell you taht your child has a freakishly wide foot (which is oddly smaller than last time they measured it) but then proudly state that they have NONE in that size.

Crocs are the answer, Cod.

Under £20, nice loose fit with loads of lovely growing room.

dunno. could be. my theory is that clarks have at some point hypnotised an entire segment of the population, incl me as I feel extremely weird if i dare not to go there.

i have appalling feet with bunions all over but was in bare feet, start-rites or clarks as advertised. prob a scam.

Thing is anyway, what happens in Clarks is that they measure the feet and give you this very precise measurement, and then they say, 'We haven't actually got any in that size today so I've brought you some 2 sizes bigger which will do instead.'

Which proves it.

it is a racket. we shuld all boycott clarks for the fitting outrage and the abomination of their website.

Report
pirategirl · 09/07/2007 10:42

clarks certainly have the monopoly, dont they. I feel sorry for the assistants, and thier patter ( geddit) then they have to tel lyou they dont have that width, that size, that shoe, any shoes in the shop.

Then i'll say well what about that style and if we go up a half size...,

fits fine.

Clarks is so crap, the shoes for school girls, ages 5 or 6 are awful.

Ex Clarks manager speaking

IMO because childrens feet havent fully developed until they are 18, I think its quite important to get good fitting shoes. Especially when they start to walk.
I'm not big on the crawlers and cruisers mind you.

The staff do virtually have to have a PHD to do the fittings. They go through loads of traning and they wont just let anyone do it.
They also tell you they'd rather you send customers away or at least try to order the shoes for them, than fit a crap pair. They arent on commission anyway so it makes no odds to the staff.

As for their site, I think it was MrsB who said that they plan to sell online either later this year or next.

Who are all htese people with big, wide feet?

DD1's got fairy feet - skinny and long.

I wish her feet were a bit wider, it would make my life easier.
