Letting your children get bored...

...is fantastic! I have had much amusement over the last few days with their little made up adventures. Most of the toys are packed away because of the move and they are having a fantastic time! They are playing with empty plastic crates and a quilt just now making booby traps!

I agree - the most fun we had when we were little was the made up stuff. Toys are overrated!

Tis the reason I am not going to entertain my two DS's for the whole of the school hols. I am going to let them get bored on some occassions(sp) because that's what we did. Normally every day they look at me to sort out their day with trips out etc. wish me luck!

Good luck - I am planning the same (with the odd trip!)

my dd (4) rarely plays with topys (so i could have saved myself lots of cash!) - most of her games are made up - her fave is pretending to be a playgroup leader!

DS has an obscene amount of toys from well meaning grandparents but he rarely touch's them today we have made a camp out of bed sheets and chairs and he has "cleaned" the bathroom, done the hoovering and generally used the cat as a prop in his odd the make believe world

As kids, if we were ever foolish enough to tell my mother we were bored, she'd say "excellent, you can help me with the housework then". Highly effective
