I've already posted this in health but I wasn't sure how many people would see it so have also stuck it in here, sorry for cross posting, just hoping that somebody somewhere might have some answers! thanks...

Late this afternoon,I discovered my ds had 4 or 5 large blotches on his leg - a bit like the weal you get if you sting yourself on a stinging nettle, but varied in size from about an inch in diameter to maybe 3 inches in diameter. They are slightly raised, and definitely pinker than the surrounding skin, particularly at the edges. A bit like a not very bad scald but he hasn't been next to anything that could have caused that!
since then, some have already disappeared and more have appeared (and some disappeared) on his other leg and now moving onto his torso. He's not scratching at them madly but he is a bit so they could be a bit itchy. But other than that he is his normal self, very happy and full of energy rushing around, he doesn't appear to be poorly.
My mum happened to arrive just after I had discovered them and she didn't recognise them as any of the things that we had as children.
My dh has sensitive skin and often gets weals if it comes into contact with something it doesn't like or from pressure or even the wrong texture of clothes, these usually go after an hour or two. However, he can usually pinpoint what it is that has caused them. However ds is now 2 and hasn't so far had any indication of having such sensitive skin, so I don't think it is that.
I discovered it so late in the afternoon I wasn't able to get a doctor's appointment and as he seemed so well in himself I haven't taken him to A&E. But I just wondered if anybody has got any ideas as to what it could be?
oh and I've checked pictures of impetigo and ringworm online, and it doesn't seem like either of those. Especially as it is not always staying around for long! but on the other hand it is now causing him some discomfort so I want to get it sorted.
Thanks for reading all this - sorry it was a bit of a long one.
