OK, do we go to our friends wedding in spain?

hello, i'm the first to admit that i can worry uneccessarily about the kids (3 and 1) anyway our friends have just announced that they're getting married in Spain and DH is the best man so there's no getting out of it. We'd need to be away for 3 days and 2 nights because of the ceremony time. My mum's already offered to come down and stay here with the children and she's great with them, but i'm just so scared that i'll be a good 6 hours away should something happen. i'm also shaky about (god forbid) something happening to me or dh and the consequences of that. I know that this is all based on "what if's" but that's just me!
Don't get me wrong i REALLY want to go and have a great time and a bit of quality time with dh as this would be a first but, you know, eeek..... what do you think?

we are going to a friend's wedding in spain (well, ibiza) next week. we are taking our children, 5 & almost 2. we're going for 5 days, & all really looking forward to it. so in your position, i'd take the kids as that's what i'm doing!

I'd take them with you - would it be feasible for your mum to come too?

I'd go and leave the kids with Mum.

Go go go. If you trust your mum then do it. We left our 2 year old with my Mum for 2 days and then another 2 days with my in-laws when my husband and I went to Venice as a first holiday without our son and knew it would be a one off as we were trying for another baby at the time.

I ended up flying out knowing I was 6 weeks pregnant!!! So very well timed.

Think about the positives like not having to work around your children's timetable, not cutting up their dinner, drinking and enjoying yourself. They will be in their own beds at night etc

It is normal to worry.

Hi I would only go if I could take the kids, just me though I wouldn't enjoy it at all if they were a long way away. My friends have left theirs though for holidays and have enjoyed it, your little ones will be in good hands with your mum.

We loved being left with our grandparents.

They let us do whatever we wanted.

MUCH better than my parents' boring old holidays.
