What should i ask or check at nursery tomorrow?

DS is going to start settling in time at a nursery tomorrow, as he'll be going one day a week from next month.

What should i look out for?

I thought i'd ask how many babies they have, and if there's somewhere he can nap in the afternoon.

Anything else?

Food...is it prepared and cooked on premises (sneak peak at kitchen) or bought in and if so where from.

Look out for how staff interact with the children - friendly, happy, enthusiastic? Ideally you wnat one child to be acting up so you can see how they cope with naughty behaviour!

How they will tell you how your ds is doing ( contact book?).
Nappies and wipes (if not provided) do they want a pack an dthey will tell you when running low, or prefer you to send ds in with a few each day...?

Should have seperate rooms for babies and bigger children.
DS's nursery mixes them together at the very end of the day when numbers are low, which is actually good as they get to play with/watch older children. The babies are always close to a member of staff though to make sure an enthusiastic toddler doesn't tread on them in the rush to the door to meet a parent come to collect them!
