Which cartoon channel do your kids prefer?

Just wondering what channels other kids prefer and what age they are - if you have cable/sky.

DD is nearly 6, about 18months ago she moved herself up from cbeebies to NickJr. Can't remember how it happened but I suppose she outgrew Tellytubbies et al.

Then last night she said she wanted to watch Spongebob as she saw it at a friends house. So I flicked round a few channels and found another channel with it on. So after it finished there was another cartoon on which seemed very loud and flashy and fast. She however wanted to carry on watching and now says NickJr is for babies.

I'm concerned that its too old for her as it doesn't seem as gentle as The Wiggles, LazyTown, etc ? I don?t want them sending her hyper. She doesn't watch much TV a day - less than a hour each day usually, some days maybe a bit more (rare). Do I just accept she's growing up or put my foot down and only let her watch "baby cartoons"?

DD1 always had Cbeebies then moved onto nick jr, then at about 2yr she wanted to watch spongebob (DH's fault) and Scooby Doo. She grew out of it pretty quickly and when she wanted to watch them I just told her it wasn't on yet. When she watches television now she watches CITV where there are Nick Jr type programmes on, or Tiny Pop.

any channels with adverts are totally banned in this house, so it's a choice of Cbeebies, CBBC or KiKa (German mixture of Cbeebies & CBBC)

TBH, I'd get her some DVDs that you approve of rather than letting her watch crappy channels filled with adverts and rubbish cartoons....
