How far do you go to recover/replace lost bits of toys?

DS's Playmobil diver lost one of his flippers down the drain of the bath last night. I know DH would say "lesson in life" as he has been warned to tidy up all small bits of his rescue boat (favourite bath toy of the moment - BAD purchase, BTW, if you want quick bath times!) but DH is away, I was shouting at DS to get out quickly, and DD was howling - anyway, he ended up so distraught that I promised to do what I could to get the diver a new flipper.

An hour online later, two questions:

  1. Where on earth do I get one orange flipper for a Playmobil diver without acquiring another diver?

  1. Do other people find themselves doing daft things like this?!

go to the playmobil uk website and send an email requesting the missing part, for which there is a small charge.

Thanks - I have sent an email, although it is a bit light on detail as they don't appear to make the boat in question any more. I'll see what I get back.

Note to self - must buy strainer-type cover for the bath plughole!

I was obviously not awake when I started this search last night. Have now discovered this - an amazing site with complete inventories for almost all Playmobil sets..

LOL at your pickup truck trauma, MummyPossum. My mother would have not let the 'plane leave until I had it - she practically closed down London Zoo in search of my brother's cuddly gorilla... I guess that is what prompted me to pose the question - "what is "normal"?" I am not sure that foxtrot and me finding a site listing the components of Playmobil sets exciting qualifies - like so many things, I try to imagine my pre-DCs reaction....

Oh my, is this my pet mania or what. I am so so so anal about toys that my DH thinks I am slightly mad. I inventorise everything in my head and then when things go missing (which let face it they do with a nearly three yr old and a 15m old) I can't rest until I find it.
I think I reached a personal low point the other night when I found myself shouting at my 3 yr old 'you can't go to bed until we have found the 2nd plastic boulder' (out of knights castle set........)
I think I need help!!!!!
