Well i am crap because:

  1. i always forget to do reading with dd
  2. i am always on mn or ebay instead of watching them/stopping their fights
  3. i work 3 days a wk so dd gets palmed off on to my mum after school
  4. i dont care what they are fighting about, it just pisses me off big time that they fight..
  5. I dont bake cakes, i barely cook in fact
  6. Dont change the sheets often enough
  7. i resent having to make mumsy chit chat in the playground about trivial crap things
  8. i NEVER help out at school/ CARE about the PTA
  9. i always forget to cut their fingernails and toenails
  10. both kids have dodgy haircuts done by me

I don't know when ds last had a bath

I could probably find out by counting the rings on his neck

Oh anohter feel good thread....looks like I am in a club of likemainded here then

mine had a bath last night

DD did have toast for tea though... (she refused everything else offered in fairness)

I come on MN and ignore fights so that they learn problem solving skills and social interaction

I enjoy 7 - but only because I made a good friend (who isn't in on Mon or Tues so I sit in silence ), and joined up to 8 because same friend and I worked out we could do the committee meeting... and then go to the pub

They are happy and healthy though (ignoring DD's hacking cough - its winter and she is at preschool, I expect her to hack until spring), and apparently I am "loverly and making HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE happy"

oh god where to start
my dd's have had beans on toast two days running because I coulnd't be fagged cooking anything else (I am ILL though)
I quite often get dd1 to entertain dd2 so I can finish what I am doing on the PC
I only change the sheets when there appears to be some sort of visible stain
I always forget to cut nails too
I only cut frings when dd1 is tipping her head back to be able to see

Oh yeah, sheets are a nightmare - DD is on a towel atm but to be fair she soaked through 3 sheets in one night when the washing machine was broken, and I'm only just catching up.

Hair cuts - fringe is done when Psychomum grabs her

Because I thought both dds needed new clothes until I found about fifteen tops and several pairs of jeans and tops in the ironing basket this week {blush} - so I got an ironing company to come and pick up two large bin bags on Monday.

Because about once a fortnight dd1 has to have school dinners because I've forgotten to take the bread out of the freezer for butties, or run out of ham.

Because my DM was a needlework teacher and I can't sew.

BUT - we had a great time tonight singing songs from Oliver, much more fun than ironing, and doing the voices for a Horrid Henry story, and deciding whether to pull dd1's tooth out or just let it fall out. So I'm not a crap mum (and probably neither are you), I just have my priorities right!

I am always convinced DD needs more jeans... and then do some washing and (more importantly) put it away She always has far more than I realised...

My mum (fosters teens) always goes with quietness and just sending them to bed, and then telling them you will talk about it in the morning (in some ways its better that way as they then sh*t themselves all night about what will happen).

I hope things go ok

because I let my children eat whatever they find on my none too clean floors.
because I have let them both go to bed without washing their faces - and one is painted up as batman and the other as a princess
because I let DD go to bed without having a wee when she hasn't done one since lunchtime and she is only 2

yep. me too. have never cut dd's (3) hair. because its so pretty and curly, and because i cant be doing with the hassle of her kicking off in the hairdressers. regulalry forget nails etc. let her watch telly and just leave her to it when i just need some space. really enjoy the days when i am working etcetctetc...

but - i love it all. love being a mother. and for all the stuff i'm useless at (housework blah blah) she is happy and bright and we have fun and she is loved and i cook alot and dont stress when she helps and... my honest opinion - and i think it needs saying, although i do think everyone here knows it - is that ultimately a missed haircut or bath or tin of beans or whatever just doesnt matter. are they happy? yep. are they healthy? yep. do they make freinds well? yep. are they kind and sociable and thoughtful? yep

thats it, isnt it?

i keep falling asleep on the sofa in the mornings. Thank god for cbeebies. I do get woken by ds at 5.30am though. Also we never seem to be dressed before 10am. Postman is used to seeing me in my dressing gown at lunchtime. However we do have a lot of fun in the mornings (me and ds not the postman). I think a laugh is more important than getting dressed. Also the last 2 days ds has only used 3 nappies a day as he wouldn't stay still long enough for me to change it.
