OK, I refuse to change my name on this LOL!

An old schoolfriend of mine has been in a bad way since she was about 16 with eating disorders etc, then she married a complete idiot who did, and still does (separated officially) abuse her emotionally. he lives in Thailand a lot of thre time, but comes back and lives in the house whn he's here. They ahve two little kids, 6 and 4.

he is bankrupt, and he has taken to forcing my friend into taking out illegal finance for things for him- I've just ahd a call to say he's done it again, £17K this time!!

I am worried about her health, the kids witnessing horrible abuse- he threatens to take them away (kidnap) to Thailand with him- and that she will end up in prioson. She is doped up on AD's the whole time, asleep in the day often, and has no self esteen any more.

friend has asked me to contact SS ofr her (She lives next door whilst i am 60 miles away). What do you think? I ahte the idea of losing a friend (and youngests Godmother) should she find out, I also hate the idea that those kids will become his (this man is reputedly involved in the porn DVD industry in Thailand, and illegally sells imported porn / illegal gods such as fake dvd's, football kits- ehich he makes her receive). should she go to prison.

the idea behind the latest scam is she is taking out a loan for £17k for a car, she is on his payroll and he will then make her redundant in two months for her to claim insurance on repayments.

We keep saying, we'll ahve to do something soon but it happens again, and again, and again.....

DOn't have any experience in this, but my advice would be this.

You know the situation is going to carry on unless someone does something about it. YOu know that at some point you will have to do something about it.

If you phone ss they will not reveal to friend that it was you.

Phone them would be my advice - sooner, rather than later, as you sound as if you will have to do it at some point anyway.

I spoke to the NSPCC. Unless my friend is actually harming them (which we have no way of knowing) they can't help . They say she should go to Womens Aid or take out a legal order aginst him, but she can't drag herself out of bes let alone think for herself

Feel very helpless.

Nope, her Mum is pretty much the same as her (though she does help somewhat) and other than that she is alone int he world, her Dad died young and she's an only child, most friends give up on her eventually. Clearly an easy target.... her H isn't the first to see ehr coming, more's the pity.

We may telephone the car dealership as the deal is not yet closed, but nothing more we can do.
